The Love from The Past that Ruined Our future

On New Year's Eve, my fiancé left me, who had a miscarriage in a car accident. He was chosen to accompany his young assistant to go abroad. She wanted to see the aurora borealis.

In response to my request for help, he only coldly said, “You must agree to withdraw from the marriage if you want to live.”

In the end, it was my childhood sweetheart, Orlando Humphrey. He was a doctor, who rushed to the surgery room and operated on my behalf with his career guarantee, which saved my life. But my child did not survive.

“Orlando Humphrey, I didn't expect you to do this far for Eleanor Celeste. Do you think if Celine Reverie knew that you were the one who hit her with the car and that you were the one who killed that bitchy bastard, would she still love you so much?”

“Celine is too stubborn. If she lets that child be born safely, she will never break off from the marriage with you. You have to know that for me as long as Eleanor can be happy, I am willing to compensate Celine Reverie for the rest of my life.”

The smile on my face froze.

Inside the room, the conversation between the two continued.

“That's why I said, it's still you who is ruthless enough.”

The ex-fiancé hooked his lips, but his smile did not reach his eyes. “Your idea is happy enough for all. Then you should pray that Celine will never find out the truth. As for Eleanor Celeste, I won't bother you. After all, the person she loves is me. The only person who can make her happy is also me.”

The man finished speaking and got up. He then walked towards the door.

My hand held the doorknob. The veins were bulging unconsciously.

I saw the man getting closer and closer to me. My stiff legs finally regained consciousness. Then I stumbled toward the stairs.

Until I sat in the car, my whole body was still shaking. In my mind, the conversation between the two just now kept surfacing.

I leaned my head against the car window. I let my tears flow and then be blown dry.

After a few minutes, I realized that the person who hit me with his car back then was actually not Richard Athelstan. Even he was bent on breaking off the engagement with me.

Instead, it was Orlando Humphrey who went out of his way to block his career in order to pull me back from the ghost gate.

I then thought of that fragrant and soft little body of my baby. I reached out and covered my chest tightly.

I said in my heart, ‘No wonder. No wonder at that time, I heard the sound of a child crying in my blurred consciousness.’
