The Alpha Went Wild after I Dumped Him Chapter 1

After seven years by Alpha Daemon's side, he finally proposed at my birthday banquet. The ring felt like a dream come true—until I caught him in the bathroom with his childhood friend, locked in a passionate embrace.

"Are you really going to marry her?" she teased, running her hands down his chest.

Daemon's cold laugh sliced through me. "Seylah? She's nothing but a distraction. You're the one I truly want."

But I didn't break. I walked away, heart torn but head held high. And when a powerful Alpha, one who saw my worth, stepped into my life, Daemon lost control. He went wild, begging, raging, desperate to reclaim what he'd thrown away.

***

They call me Seylah, daughter of the Alpha King, the blood of royals running through my veins. My strength and power are not just inherited—they're bred into me, forged by my lineage. As a descendant of the continent’s most powerful pack, I was expected to choose an Alpha who matched my prestige, a leader from a well-known pack. But fate had other plans.

Daemon, the son of Alpha Brask, hailed from a small pack on the borders, an obscure name in our world. Yet, a bond formed long before we were born—when Daemon’s father saved my father’s life. A promise was made, a debt was owed, and our union was sealed. We weren’t fated mates, but I loved him anyway.

When he first confessed to me, wolves whispered behind our backs. They saw him as a bastard, daring to chase after a royal, thinking I would publicly humiliate him. Instead, I accepted, knowing that he carried the honor of his father's sacrifice. From that day forward, I was his. For seven years, I gave Daemon everything—my loyalty, my love, and my heart.

At first, he treated me like I was his world, running to me whenever I was hurt. But gradually, the man who once cherished me disappeared. When I was attacked, left bloody and bruised, he didn’t come. Not even when I lay in the hospital, on the brink of death, did he show his face. All because I was a royal. Being the Alpha King’s daughter made me a target for assassination, but to Daemon, it had become nothing more than an inconvenience.

I don't know when it started, but his love for me withered. He became distant, indifferent. My status, my history with him—none of it seemed to matter anymore. Instead, his attention was drawn to another—Zaira, a young she-wolf from his pack, a girl who’d been hanging around him for years.

The first time I met Zaira was when I moved into the Fireclaw Pack after Daemon ascended to Alpha. As his future Luna, it was only right I joined him. But Zaira didn’t care about that. She threw herself into his arms the moment I stepped into the room, casting me a disdainful look as if I were the outsider.

"This is your girlfriend?" she sneered. "She’s... pretty average."

I stared at her, shocked by her audacity. Who did she think she was, insulting the daughter of the Alpha King like that? But before I could respond, she gasped dramatically, covering her mouth.

"Oh no, Alpha Daemon, I didn’t mean to be rude! Your girlfriend won’t be mad, will she?" Her eyes sparkled with false innocence.

Daemon’s mother was present, so I bit my tongue, expecting him to defend me like he always had. But instead, he turned to me with a cold look.

"Zaira’s young and speaks without thinking. Don’t take it to heart," he said, his voice indifferent.

Zaira, still clinging to him, pouted and added with a playful giggle, "Seylah, your glare is scaring me."

I waited for Daemon to reprimand her, to put her in her place. But he turned to me with a warning.

"In front of my mother, you’d better behave. Don’t cause a scene over something trivial. Zaira's just a kid."

His words cut deep. Wasn’t I his mate? His future Luna? Yet here he was, protecting her. At that moment, I didn’t know who he truly belonged to.

Summer came, and I left for my studies on ancient werewolf history and artifacts, research my father insisted upon. I had a villa near the academy and gave Daemon the key, allowing him to visit whenever he pleased. But when I returned to the Fireclaw Pack unannounced, something was off.

Women’s shoes sat on the shoe rack by the door. My designer bag, a birthday gift from my father, hung carelessly by the entrance. It wasn’t where I’d left it before my trip. My heart pounded as I walked in, only to hear laughter from the kitchen.

There they were—Daemon and Zaira. He was holding a cake, her face smeared with cream, and she was wearing my clothes. My clothes. They hadn’t even noticed me standing there.

Daemon froze, the dollop of cream still in his hand as our eyes met. His expression darkened immediately.

"What are you doing here?" he demanded as if I was intruding on them.

I stared at him, disbelief washing over me. "Am I interrupting something, Alpha?"

Zaira's lip quivered as she looked at me with mock innocence. "Seylah, don’t make it sound like I’m some homewrecker."

"Shut up," I growled, feeling my wolf stir beneath my skin, itching to tear her apart.

Zaira’s eyes widened, filling with tears as she whimpered, "I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to upset you. Daemon and I have been like this since we were pups. It’s all just fun... I'll be more careful next time, I promise."

Daemon stepped forward, his voice harsh. "It’s just play. You’re overreacting."

I clenched my fists, trying to rein in my rage. "This is our packhouse. My house. Do you not think I deserve an explanation as to why she’s wearing my clothes? Why my things are all over the place?"

Daemon crossed his arms as if this was all beneath him. "She’s my sister in all but blood. She’s staying here until she finds her own villa in the territory. Your clothes? They’re last season’s, Seylah. You weren’t here to use them, and Zaira needed something to wear. It’s not a big deal."

I could feel my wolf howling inside, ready to tear something apart. "Since when did you decide my things were yours to give away? They’re mine. You have no right."

Zaira stepped forward, her hands reaching for mine. "Seylah, don’t be angry. If you need someone to blame, blame me, not Daemon. I’ll take responsibility."

Her touch disgusted me. I pulled my hand away, not wanting her anywhere near me. But the moment I did, she stumbled backward, crashing into a table. The sound of glass shattering filled the room as she fell, her hand landing on the shards, blood spilling from the cuts.

She screamed in pain, clutching her hand as she cried out, "My hand! Alpha Daemon, my hand!"
