Sweet Date: Love Starts From Now Chapter 1

On Valentine's night, I squatted beside the trash can at the school gate, waiting for couples who might fight and throw the gifts.

It was said online that there were surprises in the trash can during major holidays.

The surprises could be a lipstick or a mobile phone.

After being bitten by mosquito's countless times, I occasionally caught couples in love looking at me and whispering.

"What is the girl doing at the trash can, feeding those mosquitoes?"

"Maybe she's making a contribution to all of us..."

Just as I was swatting mosquitoes and getting frustrated, something furry brushed against my leg.

I looked down and met a pair of dog eyes.

It was a Border Collie with a black and white face, wearing a collar and smiling warmly.

When I blinked, it blinked too.

After staring at each other for a while, I looked around, but there was no owner.

"Is this dog lost?"

Just as I was about to speak, a voice of indignation suddenly came from my ear, "He must be kidding! Using me to hit on this chick?"

I was so surprised.

Looking around, no one was speaking.

I lowered my head and met those dog eyes again.

"She's just so reserved. Why doesn't she touch me?"

I was shocked at this time.

"Am I going crazy?

Can I actually hear a dog's voice?"

"She seems a little crazy..."

I was speechless.

"What the hell?

Whose dog is this?

Why are you so rude when you speak?"

I squatted down obediently, patted the dog's head perfunctorily, and looked at the contact information on its collar.

The owner's surname was Shaw, followed by his phone numbers.

I picked up my phone and dialed the number. The other end answered immediately, "Who is it?"

"Why does the voice sound a bit like the voice of the school bully?"

"'Hello..." I stuttered, "Your dog should be lost, named Sam. We're at the intersection near Arizona State University."

I put down my phone and looked at the dog. And then looked at the trash can.

Tonight's waiting was fruitless.

Sam was restless on the side, chattering.

"Ah, dad, come quickly. I want to go home and see Flora! Not only you guys celebrate Valentine's Day."

"Why is this girl peeking at me? Do I look so cool in her eyes?"

"Oh, I miss my Flora, Flora smells like cream all over..."

I was speechless.

I couldn't help but speak, "You're so talkative. You know that?"

Once again, the dog and I looked at each other, while the air was quiet.

I added, "Not only talkative, but also a bit overconfident...."

"Sam!" A slender figure ran over from not far away.

I was stunned. That was really the school bully, Eden?

He stopped and glanced at me, "Thanks, and you?"

"Law School, Summer White."

"Sports College, Eden Shaw."

The simple white T-shirt under the night sky highlighted the youthfulness of the boy. His gaze was clear and light, with a touch of arrogance.

Well, the school bully at Arizona State University had a bad temper.

"Is this his dog?"

My brain couldn't quite process it. Sam was probably humiliated by me, whimpering and sneaking behind Eden.

"Sam likes to play with girls." Eden rubbed the dog's head casually.

Sam howled, "It was obviously you who asked me to hit on her! My heart only belongs to Flora!"

I was speechless.

There were more and more couples coming and going, and my eyes involuntarily followed them.

Although it was unethical, with so many couples, couldn't any of them argue?

"What are you waiting for?" Eden stood beside me.

I looked at the trash can in silence, "Waiting for a chance to get rich..."

A small medicine box was thrown beside me, with a faint scent of grass.

He paused, "Don't get bitten to death by mosquitoes before getting rich."

With a white heart, "Oh no, Dad! No one flirts with girls like that!"

I was confused.

I turned around and waved my hand, "That's all right. I'm fine being bitten by mosquitoes."

After taking a shower, I sadly sprayed mosquito repellent while complaining to my roommate Cece.

"What did you say? Can you hear dogs talking? And then the school bully Eden used his dog to flirt with you?"

I rubbed my forehead and said, "Keep your voice down!"

"Are you kidding me?"

...

"Wait, so you didn't add him on WhatsApp? I thought you were really into Eden."

I shook my head and said, "The fortune teller said that puppy love would affect my financial luck."

After a moment of silence, I heard Cece gritting her teeth and saying, "Summer, you're in college now!"

I pulled the curtain around the bed.

I looked up at the ceiling, and Eden's figure popped out in my mind.

He was the campus bully on the school forum, the captain of school basketball team, and notorious for his bad temper.

I had also seen him secretly pour out the cat food I gave to the stray cats on campus and throw away the water bowl.

Probably because of him, the cats in the school were so timid.

A boy with such a bad temper let his dog approach me.

I didn't know what he wanted to do.

I turned over, and then my phone vibrated.

It was Eden who sent me a friend request through my phone number I just called him.

"Thanks, I'll treat you to a meal when I'm free."

He didn't show any manners. I was speechless, and I logged out.

"Don't get close to him. You may become unfortunate."
