“Luna, this can put your life on stake.” Patting my tummy, I looked at Healer Penelope Cruz. I made my decision.

Being poisoned, my body was always fragile but Alpha Jenson loved me with everything. I want to give birth to our child, as a gift of happiness.

“Save my child over everything.” The last sentence swifted out my lips before leaving.

But when I was in a life and death situation, Jenson was busy with his former mate and her son.

Charlie’s POV

“Luna, you should think again.” Healer Penelope Cruz sounded concerned, “Because of the poison, your body is weak. If anything goes wrong…”

“You will save the child.” I completed the rest of the sentence. My eyes were firm with a glimpse of happiness. Patting my tummy where the little life was growing up, I made my decision.

“This is the only gift I can give Jenson.” I still have a smile on my face.

“But…” Healer’s face churned, “Alpha Jenson doesn't know anything yet.”

“Don't tell him anything.” I rested my head on the pillow, “I want to see him enjoy these months to the fullest. Let's leave everything on Moon goddess.”

Healer Penelope left without another word.

Being poisoned in my childhood, I had a weak body. But Jenson always cherished me for five years even when I had several miscarriage. But now there was a chance, I wanted to give him the thrill of fatherhood.

I was overwhelmed to give the news to Jenson but I couldn't connect the call.

I tossed my phone aside, preparing a grand surprise for him.

“Jenson, come home fast. I am making your favourite dishes.” I sent him a message.

I pulled my weak body downstairs and prepared everything Jenson like.

Today had to be beautiful for us.

While tidying up everything, I found an old photograph on Jenson's desk.

The photo of two familiar people, one was Jenson and another was Ashley, his former mate.

I loved Jenson since I started training. Being an Alpha of the pack, he was powerful and formidable. I didn't know when I fell in love just by staring at him. But his eyes was always on Ashley, the most beautiful shewolf in our pack. They were the perfect match. Later, Ashley left him to settle abroad. Going through a heartbreak, I became someone Jenson could lean on. Later, he proposed to me like I dreamt and we had our Mating Ceremony within six months. During all these years, Jenson was the sweetest and most caring husband.

Shaking off the old memories, I put aside the photograph.

I waited for Jenson for the whole night while staring at the road eagerly. But I didn't know when I fell asleep leaning on the balcony. When I woke up it was already morning. Jenson never showed up all night, it was too unlikely of him.

When my mind was still wondering if something happened to him, Mira, an Omega in our pack and my childhood friend called me.

“Mira.” I said sweetly.

“Charlie, there’s no time for greetings now.” She sounded anxious as if something big happened.

“What's wrong?” I frowned, and couldn't let go of the bad feelings in my heart.

“Quick, check the group chat. You will know everything.” She blurted out, “Charlie, never think that you are alone. You have me, you know.”

Before hanging up, she reminded me again to check the group chat.

For some reason, I had a bad premonition.

“It's…” my mouth was awestruck when I read the chats.

A wolf from our pack sent several photos of Jenson and Ashley together.

He even added a caption:

[Our Alpha’s crush Ashley is back. She is still so pretty and has a cute son now. I wonder who the father is.]

In the photo, Jenson was holding the boy in his arms, he was so delighted that he was almost glowing. I had never seen Jenson smiling this much. Usually, he was cold and serious. My breath hitched when I recalled the photograph earlier.

“Ashley…” Subconsciously I mumbled the name. My hands trembled as I scrolled through the chats.

Everyone was sending love emojies and some even dared to say that the child could be Jenson's, after all Luna was incapable.

That was right, everyone is the pack hated me as their Luna. They all thought if my brother was not a knight, I could never be Luna.

But I never cared because Jenson loved me. But now every word felt a boulder in my heart.

Over everything, Ashley uncovered the most horrible blow for me.

She sent a photo where she was leaning on Jenson's biceps and he was feeding her son.

My eyes filled with tears but over everything, my whole body was shaking. Suddenly I started to laugh hard.

“Fuck!” I grunted, letting my wolf out. Here I was tossing between life and death just to make him father, but he was already taking care of someone else's child.
