After Rebirth, I will Not Save the Girl Who Fell Into the Water Chapter 1

On my way home, I saw a girl fall into the water. Then, I jumped in to save her.

She kept choking on water because of her weight, so I had to hold her butt to move to the shore.

Unexpectedly, after being rescued, she stopped everyone from rescuing me and even spat on my head.

I sank to the bottom of the water due to exhaustion, and I bumped my head on a boulder, causing me to be paralyzed.

Then, I lost my job and my wife left me.

However, the girl looked disdainful towards the media.

"I didn't ask him to save me."

"He touched my butt. I'm nice not to sue him for molestation."

Mom sold the house to pay for my medical treatment and was still taking care of me when she was in the late stage of lung cancer.

I couldn't bear to drag her down, so I swallowed pills and died with hatred.

Later I was reborn to the day when the girl fell into the water.

After a thud, a kind-hearted person urged me to save people, but I raised the telescope slowly.

"Are you sure that it's a person who fell?"

——

After a rain, the house started leaking.

Mom cleaned my bedsores and helped me to the wheelchair with great effort. Then, she took a basin to get water.

I was always thinking about the lung cancer diagnosis.

To pay for my treatment, Mom sold the house in the city and moved to the countryside.

Even in the advanced stage of lung cancer, she was still taking care of me, a useless guy who should be filial to her.

I didn't want to burden her anymore, so I took a whole bottle of sleeping pills.

I was very sad, and my throat was raw. I would be filial to Mom in my next life.

I had several dreams before I lost consciousness. I dreamed that a girl fell into the water and a young man jumped in without hesitation.

Coming ashore, the girl spat at the young man. The young man was speechless and felt extremely aggrieved.

I dreamed that the young man's wife resolutely filed for divorce with the young man who was paralyzed.

I dreamed that the young man's mother knelt down in public for justice.

But the girl who was rescued was dismissive.

"I didn't ask him to save me."

"He touched my butt. I'm nice not to sue him for molestation."

I dreamed that the big house was sold and the young man was in a wheelchair.

He wakes up every night and cried," I can't run anymore, and I have no future."

Finally, I saw the young man stand up.

He could walk, and he patted the sleepy loser in the wheelchair.

"Gavin Smith, do you regret saving that girl?"

A line of hot tears flowed from the corners of my eyes.

I nodded with the last bit of strength I had.

I regretted it.

I really regretted it.

If there was a chance to start over, I would never save that girl anyway.

"Hey, buddy, would you like a telescope?"

I felt the world spun around, and then I found a yellow-haired guy standing in front of me.

With a pair of binoculars on his wrist, he was staring at me intently.

Telescope?

I pinched my thigh hard and grimaced in pain.

I wasn't dreaming.

I quickly took out my phone to check the time.

I went back six years.

I looked around. I was on my way home from get off work.

I hadn't been here since I became paralyzed.

But now, I was standing.

Was I...reborn?

With excitement, I was going to buy a telescope.

"Come on."

At this moment, there was a sudden sound and someone shouted.

"Oh, no! Someone fell into the river."

Passersby looked down at the bridge.

There were ripples in the river.

A black shadow appeared and fluttered a few times, then became smaller and smaller.

Was that... Yuki Green?

It showed that I was reborn on the day that Yuki fell.

I didn't want to have any contact with her anymore, so I planned to flee the scene as quickly as possible.

However, the corner of my clothes was held tightly by someone.

"Mr. Smith, someone fell into the water. Save her quickly."

She was Ms. Lee, the mother of my student.

After calling the police, everyone started talking.

"She's dying. Is there no one to save her?"

"The river isn't shallow, and there is mud and big rocks. It's too dangerous. Who can swim?"

Ms. Lee pointed at me and yelled, "This is my son's swimming coach. He has won medals. Don't worry."

Everyone turned their eyes to me.

"Jump into the river. Why are you hesitating?"

"Don't you want to save the girl?"

"She'll die if you don't save her."

I calmly looked into the river through the telescope, looking embarrassed.

"If it was a human, I would definitely save her."

"But the sound was loud. Are you sure that it's a person who fell?"
