Jason could not say anything on the way home. He was still shocked at having seen Rebecca again. He had alot of questions , that he needed answers to but his pride had made him leave her there and gone home with Phoebe. Rebecca must have laughed him to scorn thinking that he had run off like a coward because he couldn't face her. He wondered why he had not waited a little bit and asked the questions that had been eating him up inside.
He didn't know what became of Terry with who she had run off with and why she felt she had to do all that she had done to him.
He had thought that he was over her but having come face to face with her, he was not sure anymore but he was damned if he was going to let her have any inkling of his confused emotions.
He knew that he had to speak to Phoebe to explain some things to her. It was not fair to be silent this way but he just could not help it. It felt like his past had come back to haunt him.
'Oh God, she was so beautiful', he thought to himself. More beautiful than she had been when they were together and it rattled him that that was the case. He had tried all he could to give her the best. How come she was looking better than when they had been together or was he thinking that she was because it had been a little over a year since they had last seen?
He didn't know that he had thought aloud and was shocked when Phoebe replied, 'Yes she is, isn't she?'
He looked at her in confusion
He had thought that he had thought about it in his head but he had obviously spoken put loud for Phoebe to have said this bit to be sure, he asked, 'Who is?'
'Your ex wife of course, who else were you referring to? I definitely know I was not the one you were thinking of just now', she said smiling with understanding. At least she hoped that that was the emotion he would read on her face but she was really furious at everything and everyone and wondering why things seemed not to be going her way. She felt that she had to do something pretty fast if she was going to secure her most desired position.
Nancy was no threat compared to Rebecca because it would take Jason time to love Nancy but with Rebecca,it was different. He had loved her passionately before and it was easy to rekindle the old flame. Only a spark from that very beautiful and extremely sexy woman would set Jason ablaze with love for her again and then where would she be with all her scheming and plotting?
Jason looked at her and saw her understanding look and something else which he could not decipher but felt that it could be pity and was angry . He did not want anyone's pity.
'Yes, Rebecca is beautiful and have always been. It is not anything new. But are you alright?' he asked.
'Of course I am alright. I had a nice time this evening. But the luncheon was somewhat boring and I was glad we could leave early'.
Jason felt that she had said it to make him feel better and appreciated it.
'Thanks for saying that but I know you lied but it's okay. I am okay. It had been a shock to see Rebecca after this time but I was already over her long ago, so you do not have to feel pity for me. It is not necessary'.
'Are you indeed? I mean, over her? It didn't look that way to me but it is okay. You do not owe me any explanations and she is indeed a very sexy and irresistible woman, no one can blame you for finding her attractive', Phoebe smiled again. She hoped this conversation would end because it was beginning to grate on her nerves and she did not know how long she would keep up this cheerful chatter when she felt like screaming or going to a corner and crying out her frustration at the injustices she had continued to endure in the hands of men.
They were all after one thing and that was her body and she was just tired. It was time she started getting her own back on them and that was what she had intended since they had met.
She felt that she had waited ling enough. There was no time to waste anymore. Drastic situations called for drastic measures.
She knew that this night was already ruined for her and it was the fault of that ex wife of his.. There was no way, Jason was going to spend the night with her now.
As they drew close to her residence, she got her things ready to get out of the car.
Jason stopped the car in front of her apartment and walked her to the door. He gave her a brief kiss and was going to turn round and leave when she asked, 'Would you come in for coffee?'
He didn't care for it but he felt that he must have ruined her day and the least he could do was oblige her.
'Love to', he smiled, took the keys from her and opened the door and went in after her.
She went to the kitchen got the kettle on fire for the coffee, hoping that the day was not totally ruined and that he would either invite her over to his mansion or spend the night in her apartment.
After drinking the coffee, Jason got up.
'Thank you so much for a wonderful day, Phoebe. It may not have been all that you had hoped it would be but it will be remedies next time. Goodnight'.
'Goodnight', she replied, giving him a wet kiss that could have changed the mind of any other man but Jason was just not in the mood for that.
He opened the door and stepped out.
Phoebe stood at the door with a smile until Jason drove off and then the smile fell and her expression was really murderous.
Unknown to the both of them, a pair of eyes had been watching them. The person smiled and walked away, having got the answered that they needed.
She had been turned on and now, she knew she could not sleep without having sex with someone. She went in again got her flat slipper and went out intending to get laid one way or the other before coming back that night. If it meant spending the night out, she would do it.
Phoebe went out and was going to call one of her numerous lovers but as she walked, a young man made cat calling noises at her. She did not feel insulted but waited, till the young man walked up to her.
'What is the problem young man?' she asked.
The man looked at her and loved the sight before his eye. She had not really taken off her dress and it was daring.
'You are lovely', he said.
'What are you going to do about it?' she asked.
'Well, would you like to go off some place with me?'
'Do you have any place in mind?'
'Not exactly. But the situation can be remedied'. he said smiling lasciviously.
Phoebe normally didn't do that but since they were just a stone throw from her house, she decided to take him to her apartment. She was already wet. The feeling of anger and frustration, fuelling her desire.
'I have a better idea. Come!'
The man followed her obediently and in less than two minutes, they were inside Phoebe's apartment.
The young man kicked the door shut and tore her dress off her body. She was oblivious to the fact that her expensive dress was ruined. She could not control her desires any more than he could. They kissed fiercely, as she also tote off his clothes, his shirt missing lots of button as they tore at each other.
They barely made it to the bedroom before he threw her into the bed and in one quick impatient thrust, drove his cock into her.
The feeling of being stretched filled her with pleasure and she moaned.
His thrust were violent and hard. Just the way she wanted it. She responded just as violently. Moving her waist and hips to his swift movements and soon, they both went over the edge as he spurted his fluid inside her with a deep throated groan and she screamed as she climaxed.
They rolled off each other, breathing heavily. But their breathing gradually slowed.
Phoebe felt a bit better. She felt that she had exerted her revenge on Jason for not wanting her enough to have a permanent relationship with her but not just yet. She was going to ask the young man to leave but she thought why not allow him spend the night with her?
As though he could read her thoughts, his hands were already stroking her breasts, then his lips took one nipple after another and she found that her body was already responding.
Was it because he was a stranger and they may never see each other again? She did not waste her time trying to justify her response or what was happening. She allowed herself to enjoy what this stranger was doing to her. At least it was giving her an escape though temporary from her worries.
Afterwards, they felt hungry and she put a little thing together for them to eat.
The man stood and started putting his clothes on.
'What are you doing?'
'What does it look like sugar? I am preparing to go home' he said.
'Won't you spend the night?
'Would you like that?' he said raising his eyebrows questioningly.
'Would I ask if I wouldn't?'
He pulled off his clothes again and sat down.
'What's your name sugar?'
'I believe it is better if we do not know each other's names', she said suddenly feeling uncomfortable.
The young man reminded her of Richard and she was just beginning to see that and she was feeling drawn to him and she had to admit that she had enjoyed being with him much more than she cared to admit.
She did not want to feel tender towards any man ever again. She just wanted to use them to satisfy her needs financial, basic and otherwise.
She felt that she might be making a mistake to allow him stay the night but she had already offered and the offer had been accepted going by the way the man had relaxed back into the chair.
He was not really handsome but he had striking blue eyes, that darkened when he was aroused.
His body was string and lean and he knew how to satisfy her which was very important to her. It would have been a waste of time if he had turned out to be one of those men who penetrate a woman and satisfy themselves without making any impact on the woman in terms of giving her pleasure. Or getting her to the ultimate goal of the intercourse, leaving the woman feeling used and frustrated.
'That's okay but we are no longer strangers if you ask me because we'll, you brought me into your house and not in some random place. So, knowing each other's names' is really not a big deal if I already know your house, now is it? I do not care one way or the other but it is really childish after all these'. he said looking at her like someone who was secretly amused.
'Then let us leave our names out of it, okay?'
'Okay okay, as you wish sugar'.
She detested him calling her 'Sugar' but since she was not willing to tell him her new, she decided to endure it. Afterall it was just for the night.
That night was an orgy. They mated as though they would never mate with each other or with anyone ever again and slept at last.
Phoebe was so worn out that she slept like someone who had passed out.
When she woke it was already morning, the sun streaming in through the blinds.
She stretched and jumped. How could she have slept this late. She had intended to wake the man and send him on his way before dawn. She didn't want any of her neighbours seeing him. She looked at the side of the bed he had slept in but he was not there.
She thought he must have gone to the kitchen or the washroom or anywhere but when she went into all these places and still did not see him and his clothes were missing, she knew that he must have left.
She was grateful to him for being so tactful. He had really saved her the trouble of sending him away.
She got up and washed up.Got her coffee ready and got ready to go out.
With the money she had been gathering, she had opened a salon where she sold cosmetics as well but she did not stay there as often as she ought. She got two people to stay there for her while she went round with her male friends and her plots to get Jason to propose to her.
Jason got home that night in a state of turmoil. He didn't know what to do. If Rebecca was to be believed, he had not married Terry after running up with him and getting him to sign the divorce papers he signed and getting the lump sum she had got out of divorcing him.
She had also not married any other person because like she said, her freedom meant more to her than being trapped in marriage to any man.
Therefore she might just not be after him. She might just want them to just be friends but the question was if he could afford to be friends with her? She had hurt him badly and nearly rendered bim bankrupt but that was not the issue. He had been destroyed when she deserted him and she was back and he found that he didn't really hate her as much as he thought that he did. In fact,he had enjoyed those few moments with her this evening and had to run off before his feelings betrayed him.
Then how could he remain detached if they came close?
But she had not even asked to be friends with him, why was he thinking that she would suggest that?
'Well because I know her very well. She would want to come close to me in the guise of friendship and gradually warm her way back into my life', he answered his own question.
He went in, and his helps were there to welcome him back and so was Nancy. She was looking fresh and good in her sleeveless top and Jean shorts. Any thing to divert him from thinking about Rebecca.
He went upstairs to wash and change and then came down for his dinner. He realised suddenly that he was famished.
As they ate, Nancy noticed that he was not really happy. He seemed preoccupied. After the meal, Nancy asked, 'What is the problem sir? You look very disturbed. Did your meeting go well?'
'There is really nothing the problem. I am just thinking about a business proposal'
Nancy did not know why but she felt that he had lied to her but kept quiet.
He still looked troubled and as he got up to go to the living room to put on the television set, she surprised herself by taking hold of his hands.
'Sir, I have come to see you as a friend. And I know that you are really bothered and I have a gut feeling that it is not about work. Business proposal my foot. There is something else troubling you. Please feel free to share your worries with me. A problem shared is half solved already'.
She said looking up at him imploringly.
Jason was shocked at her boldness. He knew that he had always been lenient with her mainly because of her delicate condition but he hadn't known her to be this bold and her hands holding his felt good. So good that he didn't want her to take it off.
He was surprised because he would ordinarily have taken the hand off his arm himself.
'Nancy, it might not be about work but it is personal and none of your business. Forget about it. Go and rest, for there is work tomorrow'.
Nancy took her hands off his and he immediately felt bereft and did not know why he felt that way.
' I must be getting old', he thought to himself.
Nancy did not know why she was bothered. She would have gone off because afterall, it was indeed not her business but she just could not let it go.
'I just said that you are not just a boss to me but a friend and about the only family I have at least here. I thought that you felt the same towards me. Share your burdens with me. You did not know me and yet you helped me with my troubles, let me at least offer you advice'.
Jason sighed. The girl was stubborn and he would not have shared this with any of his employees but he felt inclined to share this with Nancy. What harm could it possibly do?
'Come, let's sit. They sat close.
'I met Rebecca today at the luncheon ', he blurted before he could change his mind.
Nancy looked lost. How could seeing a woman affect him like that and who was Rebecca by the way?
Jason must have seen the question in her eyes for he immediately amended.
'My ex wife. Rebecca is my ex wife'.
Nancy now understood his distress.
'Oh!' was all she could say.
Jason felt that she may not have heard through her colleagues what had happened to him, so despite himself, he briefly told her of his wife's betrayal.
'I gave her everything. At least I thought I did but she eloped with my best friend after draining my account and sent me divorce papers and I had to settle her handsomely. But all that was nothing compared to the hurt and heart break I had to suffer. I had loved her more than life.
I thought that I had got over her but when I saw her today,it brought back alot of memories, I am confused and do not know what to do'.
:Did she apologize or explain her reason for leaving you for your friend?' Nancy asked.
'We did not get around to that because Phoebe came and we had to make our excuses and leave. But I must confess I have so many questions I need answers to'.
'Do you think she wants to get back with you?'
'I'm not sure but I think that she might want us to be friends'.
'But like f that is the case, then it is a good thing isn't it?' Nancy asked.
'Do you really think that?'
'There are cases of divorced partners becoming best of friends'.
Jason nodded. She was right but he didn't know if he could do that at least just yet.
'Except if you have not forgiven her?'
'Is it really easy to forgive what she did? I am not a saint. My feelings were hurt and deeply too. And I have just seen her and she had given no explanations except to tell me when I asked that she did not get married to man he left me for because she was not so stupid as to go out of one marriage only to be trapped in another. That shows me that she has not changed. How do you think I can forgive such a person?'
He said this so much anguish that Nancy felt so sorry for his pain that she covered his hands with hers.
That contact again. He looked at her and saw her concern and knew it was genuine and he didn't know what came over him but he suddenly felt an overpowering urge to kiss her luscious lips.
His eyes lowered to her lips. She knew instantly that he wanted to kiss her but she could do nothing about it because she was suddenly immobilized.
She shut her eyes and the contact was electric.
As his lips touched hers in a feathery kiss, she suddenly felt lit up. She was shocked at the way her body jumped in response. She had not anticipated the kiss nor her response.
She didn't want to respond at first but her mouth opened wider as she responded to his sweet kiss and groaning, he deepened the kiss.
Her head was reeling, her arms went round his neck of their own volition, drawing him closer. He groaned louder. She was standing on her toes to get closer to him. She was not thinking. Just feeling.
She suddenly felt jolted. She remembered the person she was with and pushed him off.
'What are you doing?' she asked shaken.
He was shaken as well and as Nancy staggered a little, he held her by the waist to steady her and that touch also did nothing to ease her distress as it reminded her of what she had been missing as a woman.
Funny enough, she wanted to go back into his arms and stay there being protected and loved but she knew that this was not love. He was just in need of comfort because he just met his ex wife after some years and it threw him off guard because it reminded him of all his hurt and unrequited love.
