To be with Yuri Clayton, I severed ties with my family.
On our anniversary, he made an excuse to avoid me. However, I tracked him to the airport.
He held a large bouquet of roses, presenting them to a sweetly smiling girl with a tender voice: "Yara Farrar, I've finally waited for you."
His friends teased nearby, "Yuri endured humiliation for five years just to get revenge for you."
"Now he can finally kick that shrew to the curb!"
Stumbling, I ran back home. For the first time, I opened the drawer Yuri forbade anyone to touch and found his "Revenge Plan Against Freya Ashcroft" written five years ago.
At the bottom, there were affectionate words written to Yara: May the wicked be punished, and may I spend the rest of my life with Yara.
Despair consumed me. I called my sworn enemy, Wesley Dorne: "You were right. I’ll marry you."

"Freya, I never thought I'd see you like this."
On the other end, the man's voice was cold, tinged with laughter. He always relished mocking me, eager to see me fall.
I forced a brave front, holding back tears, "Yes, it's my own doing."
"You and I made a bet. You wagered Yuri had ulterior motives; I bet he was sincere. Now, you’ve won. I accept the loss... I'll marry you."
It took me five whole years to see someone clearly. By the end, I was sobbing uncontrollably.
Unexpectedly, Wesley didn’t continue his jibes. When he spoke again, his tone was almost frantic:
"Why cry? Is such a man worth your tears?"
"In five days, I’ll come to get you myself."
Before I could respond, a noise came from outside. I abruptly ended the call as Yuri walked in, beaming.
He saw my tearful face and paused, then asked with concern, “Freya, why are you crying?”
I forced a smile, "It's nothing, I just suddenly felt homesick."
"Home?" Yuri’s eyes darkened as he suddenly pulled me into his arms. “We’re in our home together. What could you miss? Or is it that you just missed me?”
The strong scent of perfume hit my nose, and I tried to pull away. In my struggle, I noticed the many kiss marks hidden under his collar.
I froze, but Yuri seemed oblivious. He winked at me, gently coaxing,
"Freya, I know what you're upset about. I had an urgent matter today and missed our fifth anniversary."
He pulled a single rose from behind him like a magician, "This is for you."
Seeing the wilted rose in front of me, I felt a sharp pain in my chest. Just hours ago, Yuri had embraced Yara with 99 roses.
Yara took the bouquet, glanced at it, and stomped on a flawed rose. The rose in my hand now, with its worn petals, still bore a high heel imprint.
Unable to hold back, tears streamed down my face. Yuri thought I was moved. He teased, “Just one rose and you’re crying like this? Next time, I’ll get you 99.”
But I needed nothing more. Only today did I realize the person I loved had played me for a fool for five years.
My wholehearted affection had been exchanged for a plot meticulously schemed from the start.
