Pampered By The Ruthless Biker Boss Chapter 1

CLAIRE POV:

At 11:42 PM on a Tuesday night, my phone screen lit up with an incoming photo.

It was an intimate shot taken from a messy bed inside a rustic cabin. My boyfriend Leo’s bare back was half-covered in tangled sheets, his muscular arm draped possessively over the curve of my stepsister’s waist. Even in the dim lighting, there was no mistaking him: spanning his inner forearm was a distinct, curved scar slicing right through the outline of a Viper serpent tattoo—a mark from a street fight when we were eighteen that I had stitched up with my own hands.

I stared at the image with cold, steady eyes.

The digital clock on my lock screen ticked from 11:42 to 11:43. Exactly one minute and fifty-nine seconds after delivery, right before the recall window closed, the message vanished.

Jenna Morgan unsent a photo.

A second later, a follow-up text popped up, dripping with calculated innocence: "Omg Claire, please ignore that!! Wrong chat, I swear! Please don’t tell Leo I took that."

A deliberate slip of the knife, disguised as a clumsy accident.

Jenna didn't know I had already captured the screenshot within the first five seconds.

For six years, ever since my mother died, my family had kept me exiled out of state under the excuse of "grooming me" to be a supportive wife for Leo Tucker. I had worked relentlessly, keeping my head down, trusting the childhood betrothal our families had arranged before we were even born. But looking at that screenshot, the last shred of obligation vanished. There were no tears, only a cold, venomous clarity.

One hour later, I packed a single suitcase and booked a one-way flight back to Coyote Creek.

Three days later, I sat in the corner booth, taking a slow sip of black coffee. The bitter liquid grounded me after the cross-country trip. Through the window, Coyote Creek looked as stagnant as the day I left. But I was no longer the naive, obedient girl who had let everyone dictate her life. Draped in a sharp charcoal coat with dark sunglasses resting on the table, I caught the uneasy whispers from the locals two tables over.

The bell over the diner door chimed.

A figure rushed toward me, a whirlwind of french fry grease and cheap perfume. Skylar Price, my best friend, slid into the booth opposite me, her pink waitress uniform a bright slash of color in the dim corner. Her green eyes were wide with worry.

"You're finally back," she whispered, her hand closing over my icy fingers.

"I saw them." My voice was a rusty hinge. I pushed the phone across the table.

Skylar's expression shifted from worry to fury as she scrolled. A curse escaped her lips. "That son of a bitch! And Jenna... that snake!"

"I didn't come back to hear you curse them," I said, cutting her off. My gaze drifted past her, across the street to "Tucker's Jewelers," Leo's family business.

Skylar understood immediately. She leaned forward, her voice dropping lower. "What's the plan, Claire? Tell me what you need. I'll do anything."

My eyes came back to hers. "I need an invitation. To the annual charity auction on Saturday."

Skylar froze. "The one the Tuckers host? Security is insane. Only the town's elite and their... club partners get in."

A stiff smile pulled at my lips. "I know. Leo will be there. Jenna will be hanging off his arm like a prize poodle. Brenda Tucker will be holding court like a queen."

Brenda Tucker is the matriarch of the Tucker family and the mother of Leo Tucker.

"They'll expect me to be the pathetic, crying girl he dumped," I added. "I'm going to slip into the charity auction and hit them with a surprise that will blindside them."

A flame of excitement lit up Skylar's eyes. "You want to rip their faces off in front of everyone, at their biggest event of the year?"

I nodded. "I don't want them ruined. I want their carefully constructed, hypocritical world of respectability to shatter in a single moment."

Skylar rubbed her hands together, practically vibrating. "I can't get you an invitation, but my cousin Steve is a tech for the hotel ballroom. Maybe... maybe there's another way in."

I reached into my jacket and pulled out a small, encrypted USB bypass tool. "I need more than just to get in."

I placed it on the table, pushing it toward her. "It's loaded with a remote override script. I need your cousin to plug this into the ballroom's master projection hub so it's ready to intercept the feed and pull a live signal directly from my cloud server on my mark."

Skylar stared at the drive, then at me. The excitement on her face morphed into something like awe. "God, Claire. What happened to you these last six years? How long have you been planning this?"

I didn't answer. I thought of how my own father had worked with Leo, using my mother's legacy, the Nightingale Ranch, as collateral to secure Leo's position in the Vipers MC. This was about more than just a cheating fiancé.

"I need high-definition, undeniable proof," I said. "Leo and Jenna's little rendezvous in the cabin. I'm going to turn it into a live show."

Skylar's breath hitched. "You're going to the cabin? Leo's paranoid. What if you get caught?"

"He has a Vipers meeting tomorrow afternoon across town," I said, my gaze unwavering. "It's our only shot."

Skylar took a deep breath, then nodded, her resolve hardening. She picked up the USB drive, her fist closing around it. "Okay. I'll talk to Steve tonight. You get the video. I'll get the stage."

Our eyes met, and we shared a cold, conspiratorial smile.

She gave me a playful shove. "Welcome home, queen of vengeance."

I finally picked up the cold coffee and took a sip. The bitter liquid slid down my throat, but it made me feel more awake than I had in years.
