On the Wedding Day, He Abandoned Me For His First Love Chapter 1

Chad Miller and I had been together for two years.

Today was supposed to be the day we made it official.

During the wedding, when the officiant asked Chad if he would take me as his wife, he was interrupted before he could respond.

“Chad, Fiona is on the office building, and she’s refusing to come down. She’s depressed,” a woman shouted as she burst in.

Fiona Walton, Chad’s old flame, was sitting on the edge of the office building next door, where we were holding the wedding.

And the woman who interrupted was Fiona’s best friend.

What a perfect location to stage a dramatic scene – right where our wedding was taking place.

It was obvious to everyone that Fiona was trying to sabotage our wedding, but Chad believed her.

I grabbed his arm, my voice almost pleading, “Please don’t go. Everyone’s watching, our families are here. I’m begging you.”

Tears welled up in my eyes.

Despite being proud and confident in other aspects of my life, love reduced me to a desperate woman.

“Tessa, stop it,” Chad snapped, his voice full of irritation.

He shook off my hand and walked away, leaving me alone to face the whispers of our guests.

All I could hear was the growing argument between our parents.

I followed him, my high heels clicking against the floor as I tried to keep up.

On the office building’s ledge, Fiona was dangling her feet, with Chad gently coaxing her to come down.

She turned to him, tears streaming down her face, looking like a helpless damsel. “Chad, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have left you. But I love you so much. Now that you’re getting married, I feel like my whole world is gone. Can we love each other in the next life?”

“No,” Chad responded. “I’m only marrying Tessa because I have to. Please, just come down.”

Fiona finally climbed down, and I watched the two of them embrace and kiss, my stomach turning in disgust.

Unable to hold it in, I leaned against the railing and vomited.

It was only then that Chad noticed me.

Tears blurred my vision as I looked at him.

He opened his mouth as if to say something, but no words came out.

What did he mean by “have to” marry me?

He was the one who had proposed.

How could he be so shameless?

Next to him, Fiona fidgeted with her clothes, looking timid and innocent – the type of woman men apparently adored.

Exhausted, I returned to the home we had shared.

We had moved in together to “adjust” before the wedding.

The only thing I could be thankful for now was that we hadn’t been intimate yet – I had wanted to save that for our wedding night.

I packed up all of Chad’s things and threw them into a suitcase.

About an hour later, Chad came back.

“Tessa, do we really have to do this?” he asked, his brow furrowed as if I were the one being unreasonable.

“I’ve packed your things. Now leave,” I responded, ignoring his question and cutting straight to the point.

He stood there in disbelief, probably thinking I was the one leaving.

What a joke. I was the one paying the rent. Why should I leave?

He was the one who needed to go.

When he didn’t move, I tossed his things into the hallway.

The floor was smooth, and his belongings slid several meters.

“Bruno, clean up the trash,” I called to my Tibetan Mastiff.

Bruno never got along with Chad.

Chad had asked me many times to get rid of the dog, but I always refused.

Whenever Chad tried to get close to me, Bruno would bark and pull at his clothes.

Now I realized my dog had better judgment than I did.

What a failure I was.

Chad was scared off by Bruno’s snarling teeth.

How did I ever fall for such a coward?

After everything that happened tonight, I couldn’t stand to look at Chad anymore.

But as I stared at the empty house, I finally broke down, clutching Bruno and crying my heart out.
