It was such a shock to me when i found out my loving boyfriend was cheating on me with a wh-re.
It is three in the morning and there is no sign of my boyfriend. I'm at the hospital with one of the healers from my mate's pack sent to look after me. The healer has no interest in tending to me. After all, I am disliked by Derek's pack members because of my weak human genes.
"Come on, pick it up," I say to no one, worried about the safety of my boyfriend. It is thundering and raining outside. Derek is my alpha werewolf boyfriend. And I am his unbreedable human mate.

My eyes widen. Am I seeing this right? In the picture, my boyfriend is posing with the woman in a pretty white dress. If there wasn't a caption written, people would assume that they're getting married!
I quickly open the text messages, scrolling past the messages I've been sending for a couple of days.

I text him angrily. Well, there is no point when he doesn't even read my messages! So I shift to the call, preparing to be ignored once again.
"Hello?" I hear Derek on the phone.
"Are you kidding me, Derek!? I'm literally at the hospital while you're out there in Hawaii and celebrating!? Do you even know the pain I am going through right now!? I LOST OUR BABY, YOU ASSHOLE!" I yell into the phone. There is a few seconds of silence.
"Can you calm down? And listen, I'm not in Hawaii. I came to another pack to mitigate, that's all. You're overthinking. Get some rest, Aria. You're still recovering." He says in a cold tone. I can't believe him!
"Are you still lying to me, Derek? Today is supposed to be my birthday! I'm here grieving for our lost unborn child and you...I can't believe you. You're with Gwyneth, aren't you?" I say to Derek, my voice shaking towards the end. I hear him sigh.
"For the last time, I'm carrying out my duties as alpha of my pack. Stop bothering me. And it's just a birthday. You want me to celebrate it with you when YOU are the reason we lost our baby?" Hearing him say those words breaks me. Derek listens to my silence. He tries to damage control the situation, but I am done with him.
"So that's it. You're leaving me when I need you the most. And you're blaming me for the loss of our child. What a wonderful birthday gift, Derek. Thank you. And Goodnight. Don't call me ever again." Saying, I spitefully cut the call and crumble into sobs on the hospital bed. I don't deserve this...!
I make sure to block Derek on social media and everywhere else. As I guessed, he made attempts to contact me, but I switched my phone off.
That photo still lingers in my thoughts. It flashes in front of my eyes. The man who never smiles in my vicinity is laughing in that picture with her. Does she make him that happy? To top it all off, Gwyneth is a beta-rank werewolf from another pack. She was his first chance mate, she was the one that everyone loved.
But she created some rifts between Derek and herself. Derek had no choice but to break up with her. On the same day, he found me. A no-one, with no family nor any friends. Today, I turn 23. Derek and I planned to celebrate today in the comfort of our house.
Things spiralled down two nights ago when I was involved in a fatal car accident. It was raining and I was driving to get some medicine supplies for myself. I was sick and bedridden. I still am. And I lost my baby, the little bean that was turning 5 months, in that crash. It was painful. It was horrible and frightening.
But that same evening, without showing remorse for me nor our lost child, Derek claimed he had an 'emergency'. Now, I could see what his emergency was.
Derek would always choose someone who looks young and fresh, than someone who needs him at that moment. That's how he is.
