My Police Husband Chapter 1

In the interrogation room, a model-faced policeman typed on the keyboard and asked me coldly, "Name?"

I tried to stay calm despite my dizzy head.

"Ella Jones."

"Age?"

"24."

"Address?"

"Building B, 302 Alewell Garden, Danitzer District."

His long fingers paused on the keyboard as he looked up at me. "When did your address change?"

"The day I got divorced."

"When did you get divorced?"

I couldn't keep up the act anymore. I crossed the interrogation table and held his handsome, chiseled face. "Levi, you don't know when we got divorced?"

My sudden action shocked the policewoman beside me. Her mouth formed an O shape.

Levi calmly met my gaze. "No."

"Well, I'm telling you now. We got divorced a month ago."

He looked at me silently. His eyes were filled with complicated emotions.

Then he turned to his assistant. "She's drunk. Take her to the next room and wait until she's sober before questioning her again."

"..."

As the policewoman dragged me away, I struggled and angrily yelled at him, "Levi! You're abusing your power for personal revenge! I'm going to file a complaint against you!"

Levi acted as if he didn't hear my yelling, not even raising an eyelid.

I was locked in the adjacent confinement room.

The more I thought about it, the more I felt Levi did it on purpose.

The Night Bar had always been operating legally and had never been raided by the police before, but tonight it was.

And it was Levi who led the raid himself.

What a coincidence!

After six hours of confinement, the iron door finally opened.

Levi stepped in.

He had changed out of his police uniform and into his usual black trousers and white shirt, losing the intimidating seriousness but gaining an indescribable sophistication.

He looked at me. "Sober now?"

I ignored him.

"Did you have fun with the male model?"

I glared at him, annoyed. "Levi, if you have the guts, lock me up for another six hours. What's the point of asking these pointless questions?"

"Of course, it matters," he announced seriously, "It determines whether or not I'll bail you out as a family member today."

"..."

Was he threatening me?

Well, he succeeded!

My expression turned panicked as I grabbed his arm and pleaded, "Mr. Davis, I didn't mess around with the male model..."

Levi raised an eyebrow at me. "What did you call me, Ms. Jones?"

"Honey..."

Compared to the unfounded imprisonment, what did face or dignity matter?

Levi's tense lips were visibly relaxed. "I'll ask one more time. Where do you live?"

"Wherever you live is where I live."

"Then hurry up and get back home?"

"..."

Soon, he drove me in his Cadillac.

I leaned against the car door, looking at Levi in the driver's seat.

The sunset filtered through the treetops, casting dappled shadows on him. It made him look like a meticulously crafted work of art.

I had to admit that Levi was outstanding.

He had the physique, the looks, and was excellent at his job. Otherwise, I wouldn't have impulsively agreed to marry him back then.

It's just a pity...

I sighed softly, trying to speak as calmly as possible, "Levi, we got married to help Grandpa's health. Now that he's gone. There's no need to pretend anymore, and besides..."
