My Husband’s Secret Lover Killed My Son Chapter 1

After my husband picked up his secretary and our son, they went into the hotel for a business meeting.

Photos of them were trending online.

I gave him a call to ask him about it, but he hung up on me impatiently.

“I’m meeting a client. Obviously, we’re meeting at the hotel! Can you stop being unreasonable?”

I was busy contacting IT support to retract the trending topics. Two hours later, I received a call from the emergency department of the hospital.

When I reached the hospital, my son was already dead.

In his hand, he was still holding a staff ID tag. The secretary’s name was on the tag.

I broke down crying. My husband, Zac Davis, had blocked my number so I could not reach him.

After I completed the hospital procedures, Zac finally returned my call.

He sounded very angry and impatient, “Did you fetch our son? Why didn’t you inform me? Don’t you know that we’re all waiting for him to pass us the agreement? Just send the document over now!”

After that, he immediately hung up and blocked my number again.

I stared at the notification on my phone and sneered.

I was going to snatch your clients and force you into a dead end!

I was going to snatch your clients and force you into a dead end!

After my son's cremation, all my emotional turmoil was reduced to ashes along with his body.

I took out my phone to send a text to an old friend.

[I’m going to get a divorce. You don’t have to find new clients for me anymore.]

I did not expect my marriage of six years to end in such a terrible way.

Back then, all of our classmates regarded our relationship favorably. However, our marriage was going to end in a divorce.

The passionate love that we had had slowly dissipated as time passed.

I hired a lawyer to write up a divorce agreement. I took that agreement home with me.

I was no longer in the mood to work on the trending topics online.

They had nothing to do with me anymore.

I sat on the couch and waited for Zac for five hours. Finally, he walked through the door with Heather Cole supporting him.

His drunkenness immediately disappeared when he saw me.

He flung Heather’s arm aside and yelled at me with a dark expression, “Where’s the agreement that I asked you to send me? Where did you send it? Do you know that Manny has ruined something very important for me?”

I was unsure how important his business was.

But I knew that Manny had died while trying to retrieve the agreement for him. Manny was hit by a car right in front of the office building.

I clenched my fists tightly under my sleeves. I was furious.

Zac took a deep breath to suppress his anger. He walked in with his leather shoes still on and threw himself on the couch.

He turned around with a frown to look at me when he noticed that I was not responding.

“Where’s my hangover medicine? What are you waiting for? Do you want me to retrieve it myself?”

After he said that, Heather immediately walked forward and knelt down before him. She gently placed her hands on his thighs.

She then said gently, “Mr. Davis, where’s the medication? I can help you get it so you won’t need to trouble Mrs. Davis to do it. I can tell that she stayed up all night worrying about you.”

Zac unexpectedly pushed her hands away as he yelled at me, “I’m asking you to go get the medication! If not for Manny, my business deal wouldn’t have fallen through!

“Where’s Manny? Where did you hide him? Ask him to come out!

“I want to punish him for what he’s done!”

I did not tell him about Manny’s whereabouts. Instead, I threw the divorce agreement at him.

“Sign this. You’re not allowed to punish my son. How can you be a father when you can’t even control your lust?”

Zac picked up the document that had fallen on the floor. His gaze widened as he fell silent.

The next second, he suddenly stood up and tore the divorce agreement into pieces. He then tossed the pieces into the air.

“What did Manny tell you? Sloan Levine, are you insane? I’m working, not sleeping around! Could you two stop causing me trouble?!

“Our company has just gone public, and you’re asking for a divorce? You might as well ask me to die! Didn’t you see the trending topics online? If you ask for a divorce, aren’t you confirming the rumors?”
