My Healer Mom Let Me Die Chapter 1

The night a mysterious wolf tore me apart was supposed to be my first shift, a celebration of my coming of age. Instead, I was left dying in the woods, begging for help. My mother, the healer of our pack, was too busy at my cousin’s ceremony to care. When I sent her a desperate message, she coldly dismissed me as "attention-seeking."

Later that night, Alpha Blake was called to investigate the remains of a brutally mutilated young wolf, along with my Mom. For days, the Alpha, my mom, and the rest of the pack cursed the wolf who committed the evil act, never realizing the truth—the body they were grieving over was mine.

But I wasn’t gone. Trapped in a curse between life and death, I haunt the pack’s land, seeking revenge. And my mother has no idea... until it's too late.

Lilah’s POV

Three days after I disappeared, my lifeless body was discovered in a secluded glade at the edge of the pack's territory.

The stench of decay was unbearable, even for the wild animals that roamed freely. A scavenging wolf, drawn by the smell, barked furiously, catching the attention of a passing patrol.

When Alpha Blake’s team arrived, they quickly realized the gravity of the situation. Leading the investigation was Alpha Blake, the leader of the Crimson Pack, along with my mother, the pack’s most skilled healer. Known for mending both physical wounds and the spiritual scars of her kin, she was often considered the heart of the pack. But today, her heart was heavy with dread.

When my mother reached the scene, her expression turned grim—she didn’t realize it was my body.

Alpha Blake’s assistants stood by, their eyes downcast. Some glanced at my mother, knowing she had taken a personal day to prepare for her daughter’s first shift. They exchanged worried looks.

“Elena, we’re sorry to pull you away,” one of the apprentices stammered. “We know today was supposed to be about Lilah, but… we really need you here.”

“It’s okay, Lilah is fine with it.”

But I wasn’t.

The Alpha knelt beside the mutilated remains, the sight of them sending a wave of anguish through him.

“This is brutal…” he whispered.

“She didn’t just die... she suffered,” my mother murmured, her voice quivering with suppressed rage. “Whoever did this took their time, savoring every moment.”

I lingered nearby, an invisible observer of my own tragic fate. Though I had no voice, the memories of that night played in my mind like a nightmare I couldn’t escape. I wanted to reach out to her, to scream that I was there, but I knew they wouldn’t hear me.

A forensic healer approached, his brow furrowed with concern. “The preliminary findings show she bled out from severe liver damage. Her body... it’s unrecognizable. We may not be able to identify her yet.”

Alpha Blake clenched his fists, frustration boiling within him.

I watched them work, a mix of pride and sorrow swelling within me. My mother was fierce and resilient, always fighting for those who couldn’t fight for themselves. Yet here I was, lifeless and invisible, trapped between this world and the next.

Days passed, but the investigation made little progress. The site was a secondary location; the real attack had happened elsewhere. Then, just a short distance away, they stumbled upon a battered birthday cake, its frosting caked with dirt. One of the pack members sighed, “This might have belonged to the victim.”

My mother’s expression darkened. She pulled out her phone, hesitating before dialing. After several rings, she hung up, her frustration evident. “Where the hell is Lilah? She missed Mia’s ceremony and now won’t answer my calls. It’s like she doesn’t care.”

In that moment, a rush of sadness enveloped me. My mother didn’t even remember that my birthday had been the same day as Mia’s ceremony. The night I disappeared, she had walked away with her sister’s child, leaving me behind without a word.

But as I stood there, memories flooded back, unraveling the truth behind my death. I had been in the wrong place at the wrong time, a pawn in a larger game. My disappearance wasn’t random; it was part of something far more sinister.

Just as my mother started to gather her thoughts, a glint caught her eye from the corner of the clearing. A small silver pendant lay half-buried in the dirt—a delicate crescent moon. I recognized it instantly. It was mine.

“Wait,” Elena said, bending down to pick it up. “This pendant… this is Lilah’s.” My heart raced. How had they found it here?

“Mom!” I wanted to scream. “This was part of my last moments! It wasn’t just a random attack!”

But I was still trapped in silence, the weight of my unspoken truth pressing heavily on my soul.

“Lilah?” Alpha Blake suddenly asked, “Is she your daughter? That means we have a lead. She might know who was with the victim.”

In that instant, I could feel their connection to me growing stronger. As I looked at Alpha Blake, I couldn’t help but feel drawn to his presence. Their determination burned bright.

“Whoever did this will pay.”
