Every member of William's family was gathered in the hall.

David was standing in front of his father with his daughter.

"Dad, what are you saying? It is impossible" David was shocked to hear his father.

"I have decided Leila will marry him in Lilly's place" James spoke up

"How could you say that Dad? How could you want to marry my daughter to that illegitimate son? Also, isn't he in behind the bar? Did you forget he murdered his mother, setting fire to the house, which burnt his face also?" David was shaking and anxious.

He knew he and his family meant nothing to his father but it was too much.

"Yes, he was. But he was released from prison a few years back. It is good for your daughter. She can pretend her husband is trying to kill her, and then she can get a divorce. She will be free from the marriage after two or three months. Then she can marry whomever she wants" James said looking at his son without any emotion.

David looked at Leila and then spoke up, "Sorry, Dad, I will not allow it. We were living in shadow because you wanted. We did everything you ordered but not this. I will never ruin Lelia's life. Let's go dear"

"Then I suggest you prepare your bedroom because your wife will soon kicked out of the hospital. You should prepare for her funeral because your wife will die without treatment" John David older brother said blocking their way

"Uncle, how could you say this?" Leila shouted at him.

"Lower your tone you lowly thing. Whatever he said it was right. If you marry him, your mother will keep getting treatment, and we will do her operation. If you deny, you know very well what we are capable of," Stella John's wife said.

"Leila, let's go." David held her hand and then left from there...

"Don't worry dear. We will find a way to save your mother. I will never let them ruin your life" David cupped Leila's face and kissed her forehead.

"Dad, I need to do something. I will be back soon" Lelia left from there quickly.

"I am sure, Liam will find out a way. I have to meet him now," Lelia muttered to herself, then started the car.

Opening the door Lelia entered the house in hurry so she failed to notice the familiar high heels beside the shoes of Liam.

When she reached the living room, the color of her face drowned when she heard the noise.

Her body started trembling.

"It is not true." Taking trembling steps, she peeked into the bedroom, and at that moment, her whole world changed. The land under her feet started going away.

Lelia could not believe that her boyfriend Liam was with her cousin's sister Lilly. They were making out. Liam's back was facing her but Lilly spotted Lelia and smirked at her.

“We love each other. Why don’t you break up with bitch? Don't tell me you are going marry her because of the stupid enegament” Lilly asked in a seductive voice. She was taking deep breaths.

“Don’t mention her name when we are making love. And I would rather stay single than marry that fool.” Liam was so annoyed hearing her name that he bit her neck, and she moaned in pleasure.

Lilly was very happy as she got the answer she wanted. “You are right. She is the daughter of a maid. She and her family are ashamed of our family. Grandpa abandoned them long ago. But they keep living here like street dogs. No way, even our dog holds a more important position in our family than her family does. There is nothing good in her?”

"Right," Liam held her waist and thrust harder, which made her scream and moan his name while smiling at Lelia.

Lelia stood in front of the door, listening to everything in the room. Her tired eyes turned cold as she understood what was going on.

She had come here for help. But everything turned upside down.

Angelia, her mother, suddenly fainted. When the doctor checked her, they found out she was diagnosed with brain cancer five months ago. She needed an operation within a week right away. They were working hard for the medical bills but the operation cost was beyond their capacity. As they had to gather the money to pay for the operation, they went to James, but he demanded Lelia's life in exchange.

Lelia rushed to her boyfriend as he was her last hope, but to make her situation worse, her cousin's sister hooked up with her boyfriend. Lelia felt her life was falling apart. She felt she had been living in the last two years.

The purse falls on the floor, making a noise. Liam turned back and became shocked. He put on his pants and got out of bed.

"Oh, no. Lelia. It is not what you are thinking. We love each other. Liam did not want to cheat on you. Please do not get mad at him" Lilly pleaded with fake tears.

"Honey, don't cry. Let me handle it." Liam wiped her tears.

"You don't need to shed crocodile tears. You have this low-class man all yourself. I don't like tainted things. Even food is delicious. I will not eat dog leftovers," Lelia spoke up in a cold voice.

Lilly was so furious. He fisted her hand. Her nails sank into her flesh. She wanted to see Lelia crying, begging for Liam's love. But Lelia threw Liam to her like he was a piece of dirt.

"What the hell you are saying? Watch your tongue. Don't try to act proud. It was Liam who dumped you. You meant nothing to him" Lilly pulled the quilt to cover her body.

"Listen, I didn't want you to find out like this, but... let's break up," Lelia cut him off and took off the ring and threw it near her feet.

"Pick it up. Oh, sorry, I have forgotten you had the habit of picking up other things. You two are a perfect match," Lelia said and left from there.

Lilly was trembling in anger. "Did you see the bitch's attitude" Lilly tried to hold Liam's hand but he pushed her away and entered into the washroom.

Coming out of the building Lelia called her father, "Dad, I am ready to marry him"

"Father, what should we do now? David will never agree? I can not let my daughter marry that mududer" John asked James.

"They are so shameless. How could they deny Father on face. He feed them, paid the school fees, paid the medicine bills and yet them denied when it was time for them to repay our kindness, Dad" Stella said in a low voice, her eyes fuming in anger..

She wanted revenge. She smirked and her eyes twinkling with cunningness thinking that illegitimate son and Lelia together. That bastard will kill you like he killed his mother. Just wait. You will die in his hand for sure.

"Dad, I want to kick out that maid from hospital then David will come to his sense" John said to his father but he did not reply.

James was quiet all the the time when a maid informed Lelia came and she wanted to meet them.

"What do you want to talk about? I have already told you my decision" James was annoyed seeing Lelia here again.

"I want to ask a question. Why do you want me to marry that man when you are aware that I am already engaged? Why are you planning to get me married to him just because you know your sweet granddaughter has been banging Liam?" Lelia asked looking at James.

"What the hell you are saying?" James was fuming with anger. He raised his hand to slap her when everyone came there.

"Dad" David rushed there. He stood in front of his daughter.

"Tell your daughter I will cut her tongue if she again spits nonsense" James shouted in anger. John held James. "Dad come down. We can not expect more from a low-born like her. How could say something like this about your cousin sister?"

"If you don't believe me then why don't you ask them" Lelia spoke up looking at the entrance. Lilly and Liam were standing there.

John's eyes widened in shock when he saw his daughter with Liam.

"What are you doing with him?" John was fuming in anger when he noticed them holding hands.

"Uncle, we love each other" Liam spoke up. Lilly lowed her hand scared.

What nonsense! You are engaged to Lelia. How dare you hook up with my daughter!" John was fuming with rage. He wanted to slap Lilly for this stupid act. If this news leaks that Lilly hooked up with her cousin's fiance it will harm his reputation.

"How dare you cheat on my daughter, you bastard" David shouted and punch Liam on his face.

He fall down. His nose started bleeding.

"Liam" Lilly shouted and held him." Uncle stop, Liam loved me not Lelia and I am pregnant!" Lilly said, holding Liam's hand. "I am pregnant with his child. So I can't marry anyone else. So, Lelia had to marry him on my place or cancel the wedding."

Liam was shocked. Lilly never told him that she was pregnant.

David was dumbfounded after hearing this.

Lelia went to her father and held his hand,"Come down Dad. A piece of trash like him don't worth your anger"

John looked at his daughter. He wanted to slap her. Stella looking at her husband's angry expression she protectively stood in front of her daughter. She was protective of her daughter and never scolded her even she commit mistake. She always put all the blame on Lelia.

"Honey, please come down. They are not children anymore. They know what is better for them. Why are you mad at our daughter?" Fiona hugged her daughter.

"Liam, leave now" James spoke up. When Liam left Lilly ran into her room.

John was still fuming in rage.

"I Know you didn't just come here for this. What do you want?" James asked Lelia.

"I will marry the person if you give me money for the operation" Lelia spoke up

"Dear, what are you saying? No you can not do this to yourself " David was nervous.

"Please Dad, let me do it. We have no other way. We all thought Liam was best for me but you saw the results. Let's accept the destiny. You must not tell mother about it" Lelia comfort her father.

"Very well, your mother will have the operation the next day of your marriage" James said

"Okay" Lelia said then they left from there..

At Hospital

"What happened to you both? Why are looking pale, dear?" Angelia asked sweetly cupping Lelia's pale face. David was standing beside her.

"Nothing Mom, I am just little tired. How are you feeling?" Lelia held her mother's weak hands and kissed them.

Angelia smiled at her daughter weakly.

"I am okay dear. Do not worry about me. How was your exam?" Angelia asked her.

"Great, Mom. Mom, we want to tell you something" Lelia looked at her father.

"What is it?" Angelia looked at David.

"You will get the operation next week" David forced a smiled.

"What! Where did you get money for operation? Did you go to Father for help?" Angelia understood why they were looking pale. She knew very well how James treated them.

"You don't need to think about it, Mom. You just need to stay strong. Very soon you will get well soon" Lelia smiled at her

"Dear, is everything okay between you and Liam?" Angelia asked her. Liam used to visit her but lately he didn't come to see her.

"Yes, Mom. Everything is okay. He is very busy with office works" Lelia lied to her.

"I see. I was afraid that you had fight with him" Angelia said when she noticed Lelia emgament ring was missing.

"Where is the engagement ring, dear? Why did you put it off?"

"Oh, I removed it before taking shower and forgot it put it" Lelia lied to her again.

Angelia was about to say something but David cut her off

"Dear, why don't you go out and buy some fruits for your Mom?"

"Sure, Dad" Lelia stood up and left from there.

Wedding Day

Two days later

"When have arrived dear" David helped Lelia to get down from the car.

Lelia looked at a small church far away from the city, wearing her mother's wedding dress. It was her grandma wedding dress, she gave it to her mother when they got married. It was her grandma's whish to see her wearing the dress on her wedding day.

In the family her family her grandma was the only person who used to treat them like family. When her grandma was alive everything was okay but when she passed away everything changed.

Lelia looked at her Father. He was looking like a broken man, helpless and guilt were clearly showing on his face. He tried to stop Lelia but she didn't give in.

Lelia got on the altar.

She was getting married today. She was going to marry a man she had never seen before. All she heard bad things about him. A killer, bad temper person.

David looked at his daughter. Although she wearing a simple dress and no makeup on her face but still looked pure and innocent.

David looked at his wrist watch. It was almost time for the wedding, but the groom hadn’t arrived yet.

The wedding venue was almost empty only the family members and few guest of James were there. James was talking to them happily. David looked away.

"Where are the groom family? Where is the groom?" One of the guest asked James

“Don’t worry. They probably stuck in traffic. Let’s wait a little longer. They will be here soon” James spoke up.

Lelia took a deep breath. The absence of the groom family hald shown the wedding means nothing to them. Like they really loathe the man. She didn't even get the chance to know his name.

The thought of marrying someone like him made her heart beat fast with anxiety. She didn't want it but she had no choice.

Meanwhile, Lilly also arrived.

She walked into the church in a revelling dress and expensive jewelry. She was holding Liam's arm. Few girls were following them, probably they were Lilly's friends.

Lilly walked toward her parents with a smug smile. She was so Happy that she had snatched her wealthy fiance and made marry the worthless illegitimate child of Winters Family. She signaled her friends then got on the altar.

"What an unlucky girl you are, Lelia? Look your groom didn't arrive yet. How irresponsible he is? Or maybe he found you worthless to be his wife?" Lilly spat like a poinous snake.

"I have heard, he had many scares on his face. He is ugly like hell. And top on it he is a murder. Maybe he is still in prison" One of Lilly's friends said and they started laughing.

"Why don't you guys bark outside? I don't like nosey places" Lelia spoke up making Lilly fist her hand in anger.

She felt insulted . She was about to spoke up when the church door opened. Everyone looked.

A tall man entered wearing black suits. He had a mask on his face. Only his deep blue eyes and lips were on display and he was holding a walking stick.

Everyone gasped in shock.

"He doesn't need a wife but a nanny I think. Have a happy like with that trash" Lilly whispered to Lelia then got down from the altar.

Talking unsteady steps he kept walking to the altar. Everyone started gossiping.

When he reached in front of the altar stairs he started taking deep breaths like he became so tried of walking.

When he put his feet on the first stairs Lelia rushed down and held his hand. The man looked at her.

Lelia looked at his beautiful eyes. They are attractive. She helped him to get on the altar.

"Thank you" The man thanked her in husky tone.

Lelia nodded then left his hand.

Soon the priest arrived and started wedding.

"It is my house and yours from now on. Make yourself at home. This is my room you can use that one. I have something to do. Don't disturb me" Duke shrugged casually and entered into his room.

Before Lelia could say something he shut the door. Lelia looked around the small apartment. She was so relieved to have her own room. She wasn't ready to share room with him.

She looked at the messy apartment. It has two rooms and a small kickten. The apartment looked so empty and messy. Books and magazine were all over the floor. She could even saw beer bottle rolling on the floor.

"Is he addicted? Since when he didn't clean the apartment? It seemed obvious that he barely made ends meet" Lelia whispered and picked up and bag then entered into the room.

"Boss where are you? I am waiting at your Mansion. I need your signature on a file?" Mark Duke's secretary asked him. He was confused when the maid told him Duke didn't return. He should have returned after breaking the marriage.

"I am at the old apartment" Duke said and thrown the walking stick then walked inside the washroom.

"What? The girl married you even after seeing your condition?" Mark was dumbfounded. According to the information he collected on Lilly William she wasn't that type of woman who will marry a handicap man. Were the information incorrect?

"Boss, will you really stay at that small apartment with Madam?" Mark Duke's secretary asked over the phone.

"Yes, I will stay for now. Track down on information of my wife. I want them on my table tomorrow" Duke spoke up in a strong tone.

"But, boss you already have all the information on Lilly William" Mark was confused. He had already given him the all information.

"Lilly William isn't my bride. Her name is Lelia William. Make is fast" Duke ordered and cut the line.

He looked at the mirror and put off his mask. A scarless handsome face came out. He deep blue eyes and thin lips made him so handsome. It like God had put effort into creating him.

Duke ran his hand in his messy hair and looked at the mirror.

"Lelia Walillam. You are an interesting woman" Duke whispered...

At Lelia's Room

"Mom” Lelia screamed as she woke up gasping and panting for air.

Beads of sweat formed on her forehead. She wipe it away using the back of her hand.

“Another nightmare” She muttered to myself and rubbed her face in frustration. She have been seeing these nightmares since that day, the doctors said her Mom had cancer.

Lelia stretched out her hand towards left the nightstand for the water jug but the table was empty.

The jug wasn’t there then she remembered she wasn't in her room.

Sighing she got up as felt her throat burning. She was thirsty.

So she got up from the bed and walked towards the door. It wasn’t locked. She forgot to lock the door.

She walked out of the room she walked towards the kitchen. She was feeling really tired.

It was as if those nightmares sucked up her all energy.

As soon she got there, she pulled out a glass from the cupboard and poured water from the jug. She gulped it down in a go and instantly felt relaxed.

Lelia closed her eyes when she felt someone was standing behind her. She could felt the breath on her shoulder.

Lelia turned and saw Duke standing there.

Duke raised an eyebrow shoving his hands into his pant pockets.

“What are you doing here at this time of the night?” He asked her

"I was feeling thirsty" Lelia answered looking down. She was nervous as he was standing too close.

“Did you have nightmare? Why are you sweating so much? Are you okay?” Duke asked seeing her state.

“Yes, I am okay. Can you please move a little” Lelia whispered. Duke he cleared his throat and moved away and took a glass for himself and poured water in it.

When he started drinking water, Lelia ran into her room. Duke put down the class.

"What was I doing" Duke was surprised by his act when he realized he didn't take the walking stick. Talking long steps he entered his room.

Lelia leaned against the door and put her hand on her chest. Her heart was breathing so fast.

"What is happening to me? Why my heart is breathing so fast" Lelia touches her cheeks and finds they are warm.

"Wait!! Where was his walking stick? Was he walking without that?" Lelia opened the door and looked outside but Duke wasn't there anymore.

"It must be a mistake. He can't walk without it" Lelia whispered to herself....

New Job

Duke, dressed in an expensive black custom-made suit, was lounging in the main seat of the semicircle leather sofa while drumming his fingers on the armrest when his phone started ringing.

Duke picked up the call. It was Mark.

“I understand. I’ll be there soon!”

After ending the call, Duke’s entire demeanor gave off a cold vibe, causing the temperature in the room to drop abruptly.

He put on the mask. Taking the walking stick he came out of the room.

He looked at Lelia's room and saw the door was open. He looked entered the room but she wasn't there.

"Where is she? Did she run away?"

Duke took out his phone when he heard Lelia's voice from back.

"What are doing in my room? Do you need something?"

Duke put the phone into his pocket and turned around slowly.

Lelia looked at him. On his face was a black masquerade mask, covering most of his face.

The mask exposed his thin lips.

"Where were you?" Duke asked her. His tone was cold and masculine.

"There was no food in the kitchen, so I went to buy some groceries. Are you going somewhere?" Lelia asked him

"Yes" Duke answered

"Why don't you wait for some time? I will make you a quick breakfast. You should not neglect your health" Lelia looked at his deep blue eyes. She really found them beautiful.

Without answering, Duke Walked out of the room and went to the dining table. He sat down on a chair.

Lelia smiled and ran into the kitchen.

"It will take a few minutes only," Lelia said and started making breakfast.

Duke kept looking at her sharply. He wanted to know what this woman was thinking.

"Here is it" Lelia put the breakfast before him

Duke looked down. She served him sandwiches and a glass of water. It was very simple yet he felt different. He felt a home vibe from it which he never felt after his mom passed away.

Lelia felt nervous when she noticed Duke was staring at the food instead of eating.

"Did you find it uneatable? No, it is looking fine. Wait, don't tell me he didn't know what food it is?" Lelia felt pity for him.

"Why don't you try it? Even if you never eat this, trust me, it is not bad," Lelia spoke up, which made Duke surprised.

"Did the girl say I never eat this? What did she think of me?" Duke was somehow annoyed. He picked up the spoon and started eating.

Watching him eating neatly, Lelia was shocked. Where did he learn table manners?

"Why don't you take off your mask? Aren't you feeling uncomfortable wearing it while eating?" Lelia asked.

Duke stopped eating and looked at her.

"I don't want to. I don't want you to lose your appetite looking at my face," Duke said calmly, then drank the juice.

Lelia looked away. She felt guilty. I shouldn't have asked him. It must be painful for him.

"I am sorry," Lelia apologized to him.

Duke didn't answer.

"I am going to visit my Mom, today. I will be home before dinner" Lelia said

"Are you going your home?" Duke asked her

"No. My Mom was admitted to the hospital. Today is her surgery" Lelia

"Oh right. You were going somewhere, right? Shall we leave together?"

"No. My friend will come to pick me up. I will be back at night" Duke said and wiped his lips.

Lelia nodded and stood up.

"What about your breakfast?" Duke asked as she only prepared his breakfast.

"I will eat with Father. Come back before dinner" Lelia said and left from there.

Duke took out his phone and called Mark.

"Yes, Boss"

"Tell our men to follow Lelia from distance. I want every information on her movement" Duke was unable to understand her. He wanted to know if she was really innocent as she looked...

"Yes, Boss" Mark answered

At Hospital

After talking to Angelia, Lelia and David come outside. Soon the operation started.

Lelia was crying. David wrapped his hand around her. Lelia put her head on her Father's chest

"Don't cry dear. Your mom will be okay. She is strong. You know it, don't you?" David tried to comfort her.

After three hours doctors come out of the operation room.

David and Lelia stood up. "Doctor, how is my wife?" David asked. He was shaking.

"Don't worry. Your wife is out of danger now. The operation was successful"

"Can we meet, Mom?" Lelia asked.

"No dear, you can't meet her right now. She needs rest. You can meet her after she wakes up" The doctor says and leaves from there.

Lelia looked at her Dad and hugged him. David kissed her head.

"Dad, I have to leave now. I need to pack my clothes from home"

"I am sorry dear. I am a worthless man. I let my daughter ruin her life in front of my eyes. I can't even ask for forgiveness. I don't deserve forgiveness," David whispered, looking at the ground.

"No Dad. You did your best. I know Grandpa's doing. Our loan was rejected because of him. You don't have to feel ashamed. You just look after Mom. I will come to visit her tomorrow" Lelia said and left from there.

Lelia was packing her clothes when someone pressed the doorbell.

Lelia opened the door and saw Stella and Lilly were standing there.

Lelia was surprised to see them. They never came here as they found the place dirty and lowly. It was a servant quarter behind the William Mansion. Whenever they needed something from them, they used to call them to the Mansion.

"What do you want?" Lelia asked

"Look Mom, how is this bitch talking to you? Don't forget this house belongs to Grandpa" Lilly was disappointed. When the security guard informed them of Lelia's arrival she got excited to see her condition. She thought that the murderer raped her after all, Lelia was quite beautiful.

But she couldn't see a single scar on her body, which ruined her mood.

"We have to come to deliver Father's order. He wants you all to leave this house" Stella said

"What?" Lelia was dumbfounded

"Why are you so surprised? How long do you and your family want to feed on us? Isn't any self-respect left in you guys or not?" Stella gave a disgusted look at her.

Lelia's body trembled with rage.

They were pure evil.

"Anyway, dear sister what are you doing here? You just got married yesterday. Shouldn't you be at your home with your disabled husband? Don't tell me he didn't have a house? Well if he doesn't it is not so surprising. A trash like him belongs to load" Lilly's lip curled up into an evil smirk

"I don't care where are you staying. Tell your Father, he has two weeks to leave the house" Stella said and left from there.

Lelia knew arguing with her was pointless, so she shut the door on her face.

Lilly cursed her loudly then left from there. Lelia leaned against the door her heart sank with disappointment. How could Grandpa do this to his own blood?

Lelia's heart ached thinking how her Father would react hearing this.

"I need to do something" Lelia whispered when she remembered she applied for jobs.

Lelia ran into her room and opened her laptop. She started checking her emails when she found a new mail. It was from her dream company. One of the top and most powerful companies in the country. They invited her for invertiew.

Lelia looked at the date and gasped. It is today. Lelia dressed up quickly and left from there...

When she arrived, she rushed into the building. She asked the receiptsotionst for the location then she grabbed her bag and headed to the elevator. But before she could reach it, the doors closed right in front of her.

At the same time, the doors to the VIP elevator opened, Lelia thanked God and get in without thinking. She wanted to reach there as soon as possible.

“This is the president’s private elevator. Please leave right away,” The bodyguard said to her.

“What?”

Before Lelia leaves, the man in the elevator made a gesture. His bodyguard received his order and stopped driving her out.

Lelia looked back, but she couldn't see his face as his back was facing him. In the business world he known as the mysterious man. No one knows how he looks.

He doesn't like to show his face. Lelia heard once a magazine company tried to publish his pictures and he made them bankrupt overnight. After that incident no one dared to cross his way.

Lelia could say he is tall and well built body and he has an intimidating aura.

Suddenly she it felt like the surrounding temperature had dropped a few degrees. She could felt the man's gazed on her.

"Did he turn?" Lelia became nervous. She bit her lower lip hard. It was her childhood habit. Whenever she became nervous she bit her lip.

Lelia gazed at the number flashing on the elevator screen, hoping to arrive quickly so she could escape this suffocating place.

Ding! Finally, the elevator reached the floor.

Once the doors opened, she came out hurriedly and breath out she was subconsciously holding her breath. Taking a deep breath she walked towards reception desk.

Duke came out of the elevator and smirked at his little wife. She was trembling as if she was standing near a lion.

"What is she doing here?" Duke looked at her retreating figure as a smirk flitted across his lips.

"It's like Ma'am, came to attend the interview for program designer" Mark spoke up.

"Look at this matter. If she qualified hire her" Duke said and walked away.

Mark was shocked to see the new side of his Boss. He hurried into the room.

Duke picked up the information from his desk. It was Lelia's personal information.

He couldn't found any doubtful. But one thing was making him irritated that she had a past with Liam.

He sat on his chair while drumming his fingers on the table when his phone started ringing.

It was Mark. Duke picked up the call.

"Sir, Ma'am, is very skillful in programing. The interview board decided to hire her"

Duke looked at the pile of documents and sighed. Picking up a file he started working on it when someone knocked on the door.

Mark entered the cabin.

"What is it?" Duke asked looking at the document.

"Boss, Ma'am has asked for something. But the thing is, it is against our rules" Mark was nervous to hear Lelia's demand.

"What did she want?" Duke put down the pen and looked at him.

"Ma'am has requested for advanced payment. She wanted 1,00,000 dollars. But according to our rules, we don't give loans or advance payments for the first 3 months. The interview board had already denied but Ma'am requested to talk to you in person. What should I tell her?" Mark thought Lelia was an innocent girl, but why did she ask for advance payment on the first day?

"Where is she?" Duke asked him

"Boss, she is waiting in the lobby. Do you want me to send her here?"

"Yes, send her here?"

"As you command, Boss" Mark left the room.

After some time, someone knocked on the door.

Duke stood up and went to the window. He looked outside.

"Come in"

Lelia took a deep breath and then entered. She looked around and found her boss standing in front of the window. His back was facing her.

"Why is he so mysterious? Lelia could feel his powerful aura. It was the first time that she encountered such a thing, so she was nervous and scared, but she soon calmed down"

"If you are done doing a silent act, then speak up. I don't have the whole day for you"

Lelia was embarrassed. Pinching her own hand she spoke up, "I know Mr. Mark already informed you of the reason for my coming"

"Speak for yourself, Ms. Lelia. I saw on your data you are single. It was true right?" Duke finally asked the question which was bothering him. Why didn't she change her marital status?

Is she ashamed of her husband?

Lelia was a little shocked to hear this from him. In a hurry, she had forgotten to update her data. But if she told him now won't he think she submitted incorrect data? Isn't it one kind of cheating? "No, I can't tell him that. I need this job"

Lelia smiled nervously and spoke up, "Indeed, I am single"

Duke felt upset hearing those words. He didn't expect it.

"Why do you demand advance payment when you are well aware that it is against the rules?" Duke asked coldly

"Sir, I have some personal reasons. Please allow it. You can cut it from my salaries" Lelia requested.

"I think you have mistaken this place, Ms. Lelia. It is not the place where you can put your personal excuses. It is an office. I can't allow it, but soon, we are planning to develop new software in twenty days. If you can make an excellent design, you will receive a bonus, and it is bigger than your demanded amount. If you want it then work for it"

Mark was shocked to hear this? When Boss, announced this bonus this? Didn't he used to say why bother to give a bonus when we already received salaries, and he hired us all to work?!

"Is Boss changing?!" "Is it even possible to change a person who is similar to a robot?"

Lelia was so happy to hear this news. Now, the problem is solved. Now, she all did to try her best.

"Thank you so much, sir. I will never let you down" Lelia thanked him

"I hope that too. One more thing: I don't like the person who comes late. As you are single I don't think you have much to do at home. Don't be late. You can go now" Duke said

"Why is he bringing up this marriage topic again and again? I don't think I can hide this forever. Alright, after designing the software, when he is satisfied with my work, I will tell him about my marriage," Lelia thought in her mind and then left there.

Duke turned and looked at her returning figure from the glass door.

Mark looked at his cold expression and gulped.

"Why did you do this, Mrs. Winters? You shouldn't have to do that. He wasn't that kind of person to mess with"

Duke sat down when his phone started ringing. Duke took out the phone from his pocket.

When he saw the ID, his face dimmed in anger. It was his father. The person who killed his mother and unborn sister. Duke controlled his anger and then picked up the call.

"What?"

"Your Grandfather wants to meet your wife. You both are invited for dinner. Don't be late, or Father will not like this." Jackson disconnected the call.

Duke put the phone down on the desk, his handsome face brooding in anger as though there was a storm cloud hanging over his head.

Duke punched the desk in anger.

"Boss, you have a meeting in an hour. Should I postpone it?" Mark looked at his angry boss. He wondered who dared to piss off this lion.

“No. I will attend it. I will go to the washroom for a while” Duke was angry. He wanted to destroy them. He was tired of waiting for the perfect time. He was frustrated. He turned around and headed to the washroom with quick steps.

He entered the washroom, and twisted the water tap open, and splashed water on

his face.

He was trying to calm himself down but failed badly. He looked at the mirror his hair was drenched and locks of hair were clinging to his forehead. His eyes, with dark circles, were filled with rage.

He came out and looked at Mark who was waiting outside for him.

"What is going on at Sullivan Company?" Duke asked him.

Now, Mark understood he his Boss was angry. So, it was them.

"Everything is going on as your plan. They are desperate to collaborate with us. They are sending proposals every two days. They want to work with us any how. We are waiting for your response, Boss" Mark said

A smirk spread on Duke's face.

"The time will come soon"

Pure Heart

When Lelia came out of the company she stopped by the store to buy some fruits for her Mother.

The store was beside the company. After she brought some fruits she came out and started looking for a cab when she felt someone tug her dress.

Lelia was starlted. She looked down and saw a little boy was holding her dress. He looked around five or six years old. His clothes were poor and looked pale.

Lelia got on her knees.

"What happened baby? Are you lost?" Lelia asked him softly.

The boy shook his head in answer.

Lelia cupped his face and smiled.

"Don't be afraid. I will take you to your parents. Tell me where are they?" Lelia asked in baby voice so the boy could feel comfortable.

The boy pointed at a lady who was holding a box collecting money.

"Is she your Mother?" Lelia asked him

The boy nodded and started pulling her.

Lelia stood up and followed the boy. When the reached the spot the lady explained everything. Her husband had an accident and need an urgent operation. But they had no money.

For the operation she had to come down on road to beg.

Lelia remembered that day her Father and She went to her Grandfather to beg money for her Mother's operation.

"Can you help us? I don't want to lose my Daddy, please" The boy spoke up holding Lelia's hand.

Lelia's eyes turned watery. She could feel their pain as she also went through it.

Lelia took out her purse. She took out everything she had and put them on the boy's hand.

"I am so sorry honey, I just had those but don't worry everything will be okay. God will surely help you"

The boy nodded and gave the money to his mother. The lady thanked Lelia. Lelia gave the fruits to the boy. The boy thanked her.

Lelia smiled as they walked towards others passer-by for help.

Lelia put her empty purse inside her bag. She kept looking at them for some time then started walking.

Aware of the fact that two pair of eyes were looking at her.

"Why did she started walking? Wasn't she waiting for a cab?" Duke wondered

"It's like Ma'am gave everything to them" Mark spoke up.

"Go, check out the matter" Duke ordered.

"As you want Boss" Mark went to the lady.

Duke was waiting at the signal when he noticed Lelia at the road side probably waiting for a cab.

Then he noticed the scene.

"Sir, the lady's Husband had an accident and needed urgent operation but the cost was beyond their capacity. They are collecting money for the operation" Mark informed

"Settle down everything" Duke ordered. Lelia wanted to help them, right? Then he will help them.

Mark nodded and left from there.

Duke ran his fingers through his hair. After looking at the scene it was clear that Lelia had no interest in money. She had no greed for it then why did she requested for advanced payment?

Did she find the apartment unworthy to live?

Did she want to move out?

Is she going to live alone?

"If I give her office quarter will she move out?"

Duke felt headache.

"Boss, everything is solved. The man will get operation tonight" Mark informed him

"Get all information on Lelia. I want to know how her family treated her" Duke leaned and closed his eyes.

"You will get it tomorrow" Mark said and emailed the informer about the job.

After leaving from there, Lelia went to the Hospital to check out her Mother. When she reached there, her Mother was sleeping.

"Congratulations dear. I am so happy for you'' David was happy for her daughter."Winters Group is a powerful icon of business world"

"Yes Dad. I can't still believe it. It was my dream to work with company" Lelia smiled brightly.

"Your Mom will be happy to hear this" David said.

"How is Mom doing, Dad?" Lelia asked him

"Your Mom is doing well. Doctor said, she is getting better day by day. Very soon, they will discharge her" David said to her

Hearing this Lelia become nervous.

"How can I tell him, Grandfather wants us to move out"

"Is everything okay dear? Why are you looking upset? Is anything disturbing you?"

"Did he tried to harm her?" David was scared to hear this from her.

"Dad, what do you think about moving out of the house?" Lelia looked at her Father. She was nervous.

"Did anyone says something, Lelia?" David looked at her eyes. He knew his daughter well. There is no way she will bring it up unless someone pressed her.

"No, Dad. No one said anything to me. Dad, the house was never a good place for us. Mom, is weak now. What if Aunty or Lilly showed up and tell Mother everything about Liam and my marriage? I am scared how she will react to this! I don't want she blamed herself for all this.

"Lelia, what did they say?" David asked again.

"Grandfather wants us to move out" Lelia's heart ached when she noticed the painful expression on her Father's face.

She knew how much her Father loved her Grandfather. He always respected him. He never complained when her Grandfather treated him badly. He didn't say a single word when her Grandfather taken away his position.

David was sad but he kept quiet.

"Don't worry about it. I will look for a place. Don't say anything about it in front of your Mom. I will handle this matter" David didn't want to involve Lelia in it.

"Dad, I wanted to get advanced payment but it was against the company rules. So, I was thinking to apply for a loan. Instead of looking for a rest apartment we can buy a small house. I will pay the installments every month from my salary"

"What do you think, Dad?" Lelia asked him

"No, dear. It is not a good idea and you are married now. You need to think about your married life. If you want a new home then buy it for you and your husband"

"Dad, Duke has a house. I have no problem live there. I want to help you Dad" Lelia said.

"I have some money dear. I will rent an apartment for now" David said when a nurse informed them Angelina gets up.

Lelia and David nodded and entered the cabin.

First Lunch Together

Coming out of the hospital, Lelia stood near the road to hire a cab when she realized she had no money.

"Hope someone helps them." Taking a deep breath, Lelia starts walking when her phone starts ringing.

Lelia took out her phone. It was an unknown number. Lelia picked up the call.

"Hello, who is it?" Lelia asked

"It's me" Came a deep voice over the phone.

"Duke" Lelia was confused. Where did he get her number? "She didn't remember giving him her number"

"Yeah, it's me" Duke answered calmly

"Where did you get my number?" Lelia asked her

"Is it important now? I am your husband? Is it not normal that your husband has your phone number?" Duke asked in his deep voice

"It didn't mean anything like that. Do you have anything to say?" Lelia asked him

"Where are you now?" Duke asked her even though he was aware of her location.

"I am outside of the hospital"

"Then, buy some groceries. I will come home for lunch" Duke said.

"Buy groceries!" Lelia looked at her empty purse. "What should I do now? I don't have any money left"

When Lelia didn't answer Duke spoke up again, "I am sending money to your account. Use it as you wish"

Lelia's phone beeped up. She was shocked. Duke has sent 10,000$

"Where did you get money?" Lelia asked him. She still remembered her Father telling her about Duke's condition. He has no job. Then from where did he earn this money? Don't tell me he did something illegal!?

Duke chuckled hearing his wife. She was questing him to see that little amount which he usually earned every ten minutes.

What will she do when Duke will reveal his true identity? Will she be shocked or happy?

"Are you there?" Lelia asked when she didn't get any response.

"Don't worry, Mrs. Winters, I didn't rob anyone. Be at ease and use it as you wish"

Saying this Duke disconnected the call before Lelia.

Lelia looked at her phone for some time and walked towards the store.

Mark was shocked to hear the conversation. Did his Boss use his personal number to call her? He never shared this number with anyone. Only his grandfather called him on this number.

"Once, Duke said he only shared this number with his family. How did the woman get close to him? It doesn't matter now. Now he needs to look after Lelia too.

Duke saved Lelia's number as wifey and smiled at her cuteness.

"Boss, won't you have lunch with the client?" Mark asked him.

"No. I will attend the meeting only. Attend the lunch at my place" Duke said and looked outside of the glass.

"What should I buy?" Lelia was looking around the store.

"What type of food he likes?" Lelia took out her phone and messaged Duke.

"What do you want to eat?"

Sending the message, Lelia brought some vegetables when her phone beeped up. Lelia looked at her phone

"Cook whatever you want. Just don't make it spicy. I don't like spicy food"

Lelia picked up a packet of meat. She wanted to make meatloaf for Duke.

Buying the all ingredients for meatloaf she

left the store.

Lelia put her bag on the couch and then entered the kitchen. She took out ground beef, eggs, onions, milk, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper.

For sauce, she took out ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard.

She took out a bowl and then mixed the loaf ingredients in it. Then she took a loaf pan and put the mixed ingredients in it.

Mix ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard together in a small bowl until well combined, pour over meatloaf, and spread it evenly over the top.

Then she let it bake in the preheated oven until the meatloaf is no longer pink in the center.

Then she made tomato pasta.

"What should I make for dessert?" Lelia whispered to herself when her eyes noticed a little basket of apples on the dining table, which she had brought in the morning.

"Great, I can make apple pie for dessert" It is Lelia's favorite dessert. Lelia picked up some apples from the basket.

Lelia picked up a knife and started peeling the apples, then she cored and sliced the apples.

Taking a large mixing bowl, she gently tossed the apple slices, granulated sugar, light brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon zest, and lemon juice until well combined and set aside. Then she put the oven in the center position then preheated the oven.

Then she prepared everything and let it cook.

After twenty minutes, when the crust was a lovely golden brown, and the juice was bubbling up the sides of the pan, Lelia took the pan out.

She made salad and then put everything on the dining table.

In the meantime, Duke arrived. He has a wine bottle in his hand.

Lelia looked at the bottle and crossed her eyebrows.

"Where did you get that?" Lelia could not able to hold her curiosity

"It is just a bottle of wine. Why are you asking like I brought a national item?" Duke put the bottle on the dining table.

"Yeah, I can see it is a bottle of wine, and it is very expressive." Lelia had seen this wine before. Liam had a habit of collecting expensive wine at his wine store. She had seen this wine at his store when she visited his home once. Also, she had seen it at his grandfather's wine store

"How did you know that?" Duke sat down on the sofa.

"I have seen it before at my grandfather's wine store," Lelia said

"A friend of mine gives me that," Duke said.

"You shouldn't have taken it. Medicine will not work on you if you drink this. Give me that" Lelia picked up the wine

"Medicine! What Medicine?! Duke was confused. He wanted to enjoy the wine after eating the first lunch his wife made, but why did it turn out like this?

Lelia put the wine away then they had lunch.

Failed Deal

"How is the Food? Does it suit your taste?" Lelia asked Duke.

"It is good," Duke said.

Lelia smiled. "I have a good news to share" Lelia spoke up.

"Sure. What is it?" Duke put down the spoon and then looked at her.

"I got a job at Winters Group. I will join from tomorrow" Lelia spoke up excitedly.

"Congratulations. I have something to say as well but it is not a good news" Duke said.

"What happened?" Lelia asked.

"My Father invited us for dinner. Tomorrow we have to go there. They don't like me. They will use every mean word to hurt and embarrass you if they get the chance. If you don't want to go with me then I will not force you" Duke said to her

"I will go with you," Lelia said.

"Okay, then, be ready at 7," Duke said and stood up, holding his stick.

"Where are you going?" Lelia asked him.

"I have some work to do," Duke said and left from there.

Sullivan Mansion

Jackson and Nancy, his wife, were seated and drinking tea in the living room when Hunter came there.

"Dad, please come and join us. Nancy brings tea for Father," Jackson said to his wife.

"Sure" Nancy left from there.

Hunter sat on a sofa. He had come to ask about that particular project with Winters Group.

The enchanting smell of the incense smoke of wood blew over from one side.

"Where is Jonathan?" Hunter asked about his grandson.

"Dad, Mr. Winters PA wanted to discuss about the project so I have sent Jonathan. He knew better" Jackson said happily. Finally, after a lot of effort, they agreed to meet us.

"Jackson, this project with Winters Group is very important to us. We must have this project or our company will go bankrupt very soon. Leave no room for mistakes" Hunter said.

"Don't worry Dad. Our Jonathan will come with good news. Please have this" Nancy put the tea cup before Hunter.

"Of course. As soon as we will sign the deal our share price will rise one level higher. Also, no rival company will try to harm us as soon as we sign with Winters Group," Jackson said.

Hunter was happy to hear this. He continued happily, "So what's the status of this project? Will Jonathan sign the contract today?"

"I think so, Dad. Although Jonathan has gone to discuss the project but you knew him. He will get the contract signed today somehow" Jackson said.

"You are right, Honey. Our son has always brought success. Nancy looked at Hunter and continued, "Your grandson has never disappointed you, Dad"

Hunter was pleased and nodded his head.

He picked up the tea cup and took a sip.

"All the men of the Sullivan family were outstanding except that lowly bastard Duke" Hunter looked coldly at Jackson.

"It was expected Dad. You can not expect an outstanding person like our son Jonathan from a maid. His mother was a maid of this house" Nancy snapped at Jackson.

She still can't forgive him for sleeping with that maid.

"I heard that fool has changed his surname. He has taken his mother's surname" Hunter said.

"It is good for both of us, Dad. A bastard like him never deserved the Sullivan title. But Dad, why did you invite him for tonight's dinner? You knew he was a murderer. What if he tried to hurt us?" Nancy was against it. But she can't say anything in front of Hunter.

"We have promised to give him some shares," Hunter said.

"What do you mean, Dad? Will you really going to give him the promised shares?" Jackson was shocked.

"Not even in my nightmares," Hunter said, and Nancy smirked.

In the meantime, Jonathan entered.

"Dad!"

Jonathan came running in like a mad dog was chasing him. He had an angry expression on his face. Jonathan was about to shout but he noticed Hunter and shut his mouth immediately. He didn't dare to say anything in front of him.

In the family, he fares his grandfather.

“We were just talking about you, honey. Why were you running? Don't tell me you were so excited to share the good news. Did you sign the contract?" Nancy asked her son. She always tried to show Jonathan before Hunter so that before dying, he would make Jonathan the heir of the Sullivan Company. She feared someday, Duke would do something and snatch the company from Jonathan.

Jonathan kept quiet. He has many things to say but not in front of his grandfather.

"Why are you standing like a statue? Speak up" Hunter glanced at Jonathan coldly.

When Jackson noticed his Father was getting angry he spoke up, "Jonathan, your grandpa has asked something. Tell us how the meeting goes with Mr. Winters. Has Mr. Winters agreed to sign the contract with us?"

Jonathan looked at his Grandfather and gulped he was a little nervous and spoke up," Mr. Winters didn't join the meeting"

"What did you mean? You said you were going to discuss the project with Mr. Winters. You said he had requested for your presence" Nancy spoke up.

"Yes, Mom. But Mr. Winters didn't come. I went to his office today, but Mr. Winters had to attend to other matters and wasn't around, so his PA Mark attended the meeting in his place," Jonathan spoke up nervously.

"Jonathan Sullivan, come to the point already" Hunter shouted angrily when he saw how Jonathan seemed to be hesitant with words

"Grandfather, Mr. Mark will discuss it with his Boss and let me know in two days," Jonathan said.

"What!" Jackson and Nancy were shocked to hear this.

Hunter's face fell and he had a bad feeling about this.

"Did he say anything else?" Hunter asked Jonathan.

"He was asking about Duke" Jonathan managed to squeeze this out.

"What! What does the bastard have to do with the project?" Jackson asked

"I don't know Dad. But Mark seemed very impressed that even after everything Duke had done we promised to give him 5 percent of shares. He said Grandfather is a great person" Jonathan said.

Hunter's face turned red in anger. He looked at everyone. He looked at Jackson and angrily.

"Who dares to leak this news outside? If you dare to hide anything from me, I will disown you this time for sure"

"No one Dad. Why would we do something like this? And how did Mark know that bastard? It is impossible that bastard has any link to them" Jackson was confused.

"It was him. It must be him, Dad. That bastard Duke spread this news to look great" Nancy said

Jonathan was literally shivering in fear like, Hunter was really going to kill him.

"Prepare everything for Dinner. We must have to know if Duke knew anything about it or not" Hunter stood up and left from there.

"That Bastard destroyed our hard work. He is bad luck." Nancy cursed Duke and left from there.

Jackson wasn't convinced. He could tell that something was wrong looking at Jonathan's face.

"What is bothering you?" Jackson asked him.

"Dad, Mark didn't even pay attention to anything I said about the project. He didn't even look at the file. All he talked about was grandfather's kind decision to give shares to Duke," Jonathan said.

"Go and fresh up" Jackson said.

Jonathan nodded and left from there.

Sweet Time

Lelia woke up when the alarm started raining. She stopped the clock and looked at her messy bed.

She was working on the new idea last night. She didn't know when she fell asleep.

Lelia got down and entered the washroom.

Standing under the shower she twisted the tap. When the water fell on her body, she immediately felt relaxed.

After taking a long shower, she came out and put on her dress, then came out.

She looked inside Duke's room and found it empty.

"Where did he go at this time?" Lelia looked at the wall clock. It was 6. 15 in the morning.

Lelia sat on the sofa. She felt tired just then, her stomach rumbled.

Lelia went to the kitchen and made some quick sandwiches. She came out and put the plate on the table then picked up a sandwich.

Picking up her laptop she started working again while munching on the sandwich.

Just then, she heard the clinking of keys, and the door opened. Lelia looked up.

Duke walked in, wearing an exercising outfit, a white t-shirt, and black trousers.

Lelia was confused.

"Why is he wearing this outfit? He is unable to run? Isn't he?" Lelia looked at the stick in Duke's hand.

She looked at his face and her heart spiked a bit. His wet hairs were stuck on his forehead like a second skin. The veins on his neck and hands were popping out like he worked out.

Lelia looked at his body and gulped down the food in her mouth. She could see his six-pack through the wet t-shirt. He has a six-pack stomach and is extremely well-proportioned. She could say he has a great body.

"Where were you?" Lelia managed to speak up.

Duke removed the sweaty t-shirt and Lelia gasped in shock.

She was right. He has a great body.

Duke slumped on the sofa and let out a long, tired sigh.

Lelia's eyes traveled over his bare body. She looked at the roped muscles of his shoulders and chest, the tucked waist, and flat abs.

"Were you saying something?" Duke looked at Lelia and saw her looking at her body.

Her cheeks were red. Duke smirked and stood up.

"It is not good staring at someone's body, Honey," Duke teased as he noticed her face turned red like a ripe tomato.

"I am not staring at someone's body. I was staring at my husband's body" Lelia said and covered her face in shock.

"Oh no. Why did I say that? Stupid Lelia. What will he think of me? A pervert for sure"

Duke chuckled. He didn't expect the answer from her.

"Yeah. You were right. You have the right to look at my body. Also, I don't mind. In fact, I am happy that my wife is satisfied with my body," Duke teased her again. Her red cheeks looked so cute on her.

Lelia removed her hand and looked beside her. The spot was empty. She looked up and found her standing before her.

His hands were clasped behind his back, his muscular chest and flat abs drawing her gaze.

When she noticed Duke's gazed at her she looked away immediately.

"Why is he so handsome? He looks like a model who comes out of a magazine. Lelia, come to your senses. It is not time to check out him" Lelia scolded her naughty mind.

"Where were you?" Lelia asked him clearing her throat.

"I went to get some fresh air," Duke said and saw Lelia looking suspicious.

"The elevator was full. I had to climb the stairs. God, I am sweating like hell" Duke added

"That's why he was sweating. It was not because of work out" Lelia thought in her mind.

"What do you want for breakfast? Have made more sandwiches. Do you want it? If you don't like sandwiches, I can make something else for you," Lelia spoke up.

"No. It is your first day at work. I don't want trouble for me. Please make two sandwiches for me. I will take a shower and come back. Oh, right, I have something for you," Duke said and entered his room.

He came out with a shopping bag. He gave it to Lelia.

"What is it?" Lelia asked and looked inside the bag. It was a dress.

"I want you to wear it for your first day at work only if you find it suitable," Duke said.

Lelia was touched. She felt everything he heard about him was wrong.

"You didn't have to do it. You have already given me money." Lelia smiled, looking at the dress. She felt pampered all of a sudden. Strangely, she was so happy.

She had received many gifts from her parents and friends but she felt happy like today. Maybe it was the happiness to get something from your life partner.

"I wanted to do something for you" Duke said

"Thank you" Lelia went inside her room.

Duke smiled and left from there.

After taking a shower. Duke dressed up and came out. Lelia also changed her outfit.

Duke looked at Lelia.

She was wearing light makeup and the simple yet elegant white outfit he brought for her. He liked white on her.

"It fits well, thank you" Lelia thanked him again.

Duke smiled in return and sat down beside Lelia.

Lelia put the sandwich in front of him and sat opposite him. She looked at his outfit. He was wearing a black suit.

"Why does he always wear suits? What did he do?" Lelia had many questions but she couldn't able to ask him those.

"Are you going somewhere?" Lelia asked him.

"Yes. I have some work" Duke said and took a big bite of the sandwich.

"If you don't mind I want to know about your work. What work do you have Duke?" Lelia asked him.

Duke stopped eating and looked at her.

"Odds work, the low class works," Duke answered.

"Why are you asking? Do you feel ashamed of me because I don't have a proper job?" Duke asked looking at her eyes. He wanted to know the answer. He looked at her face to see her disgusted expression but there was none.

"Why would I? Duke, I want you to know that I am with you now. You don't need to do any odds or illegal work for money. I will earn for both of us. I don't look down on you but many nasty people in this world will. I don't want anyone to look down at my husband. You don't need to force yourself," Lelia said, looking at him.

Duke put the sandwich on the plate and sat on the sofa with his legs crossed a soft smile stretched across his lips

"So, you are saying you will look after me?" Duke asked. "This woman never fails to amuse me"

"Why not? We are husband and wife. Not every husband needs to have earned for his family. I am against this logic. You can wait until you have a proper job. Don't force yourself" Lelia explained.

"I am happy that my wife wants to take care of me, but I really love my job," Duke said.

"Then I will not force you to leave it," Lelia said and entered the kitchen to wash the plate.

Duke looked at the woman in the kitchen and smiled.

"You want to look after me. It is the first time someone told me this"

Welcome Party

"Dear, we have reached" The old cab driver spoke up.

Lelia got down and paid the fare. She looked at the gigantic white building of Winters Group. It was silently screaming with power and luxury.

Lelia took a deep breath and then entered the building. She went to the reception section.

"Good morning, Ma'am. How can I help you" The receptionist spoke up politely with a gentle smile.

"Hi, it is my first day at work. Can you please tell me where I need to go to get my ID card and do the entry procedures?" Lelia asked her.

"Sure, Ma'am. Please visit the HR department. And congratulations. Wish you have a good day" The receptionist said

"Thank you so much. You can call me Lelia" Lelia smiled at the girl who looked around her age.

"Sure, Lelia. I am Katie" The receptionist said

"Wish you have a nice day, too, Katie," Lelia said and left from there.

After going through the entry procedures, Lelia left the HR department. She entered the IT department.

Lelia looked around. Everyone was busy typing on the keyboard. The sound of typing roaming around the department.

Lelia was a bit nervous. "Where is my desk?" She was deep in thought when a girl came to welcome her. “Hello, you must be Lelia. Our new program designer. Welcome to our IT department!”

“Oh, thank you" Lelia smiled at her nervously.

"Hi, I am Rose. I am your assistant" Rose said and forwarded her hand.

Lelia shook hand with her warmly. "She is nice," Lelia thought. As it was her first official job. So she wanted to build up a good relationship with her colleagues and teammates as she knew how important it was to build a good relationship with her colleagues.

"Hi, I am Lelia. Thank you for welcoming me" Lelia said.

"It was my duty. Come, let me introduce you to everyone," Rose said and clapped her hands to gain everyone's attention.

Everyone stopped typing and looked at them.

"Guys, meet Lelia. Our new program designer. She will work with us from now on" Rose spoke up.

Everyone congratulated Lelia with a gentle smile.

"Come, let me show you your desk," Rose said.

"Yeah, thank you" Lelia liked the spot. Her desk was beside the window. She could get a clear view of the outside.

Lelia sat down on her chair.

"Do you have any work for me?" Rose asked her.

"Yeah. I have prepared some ideas. Please have a look. It was my first time, so I was a bit nervous." Lelia opened her laptop, and then they started working on the ideas.

Everyone was working attentively when they heard the clicking sound of high heels.

Lelia looked up and gasped in shock.

It was Bella. Lilly's best friends. She hates and loves to bully her like Lilly.

She used to bully her in school.

"I hate this bitch" Rose whispered.

"What happened?" Lelia asked her.

"She looked down on everyone because her boyfriend is the department manager of the HR department. She never entered the office in time. She always gave her work to others using her boyfriend's power. Just look at her outfit" Rose said angrily.

Lelia could tell Bella bullied Rose too. Lelia looked at Bella. She was wearing a tight, short outfit.

Bella put her bag on her desk and picked up a file. She went to Rose and threw the file on her desk.

"Finish it for me"

"I am sorry, my Boss is here now. I have work to do" Rose said

Bella laughed. "Boss? Who is it?" Bella turned and her eyes fell on Lelia.

"Well, well, look, who is it? What are you doing here?" Bella asked Lelia.

"If you have an eyesight problem why don't you consult a doctor, Bella?" Lelia stood up for herself.

She will not let Bella bully her anymore.

"Oh, you have a tongue I see. But honey, I suggest you use it to see people and places, or you'll lose it.” Bella gritted her teeth angrily.

"Well, if you had proper eyesight you would never have asked what I was doing here. It is a workplace. Of course, I am here to work" Lelia smiled at her.

"Don't try to act smart. It is not a charity home, we don't do charity here. It is an office. Now leave" Bella shouted angrily.

"I don't need to act smart because I am already smart. And I think you are in the wrong place. If you don't know how to do your job, why don't you quit instead of begging others to do your job? They already have a handful of work to do" Lelia snapped at her.

"Ms. Bella, Lelia is our new program designer. It is her first day at work" Rose spoke up.

"What?! Bella froze, and then an evil smile rose on her lips.

“Then why don't we have a party for her? We will have a welcome party for you. And as usual you have to treat us dinner. Is that okay, Lelia?” Bella asked her.

"I have plans for dinner" Lelia denied

"Then what about lunch?" Bella asked again.

"I think Lelia is busy. We have to give her some time," One of the employees spoke up.

"I don't think Lelia is busy. Are you?" Bella asked her.

“Of course not. Lunch is on me!” Lelia agreed. She knew Bella wanted to show off to everyone her unstable financial ability.

“Ha! I like how smart you are. We’ll leave right after lunch break” Bella picked up the file from Rose's desk and left from there.

"Why are you messing with her? You shouldn't do that. She will make difficulties for you" Rose said

"Don't worry about me. I know her very well" Lelia said and started doing her work.

Bella sat down on her chair and looked at Lelia angrily.

"You will pay for insulting me. Just wait and see" Bella took out her phone and messaged someone.

When it was time to get off work, Rose stopped working and looked at Lelia. She was typing attentively. Rose could say Lelia is a hardworking person.

"It is time for lunch" Rose spoke up.

"Sorry, I have some work left. I just need two minutes. Why don't you all go downstairs and wait for me" Lelia apologized

"Sure," Rose said then everyone left.

By the time Lelia got down, everyone had left. Lelia receives a text from Rose. Bela went to a restaurant with them

Lelia looked at the address and left immediately.

When Lelia reached in front of the restaurant she was shocked. It was a five-star restaurant.

Lelia rushed inside and noticed her colleagues.

"Lelia" Rose called her.

Lelia took a seat beside Rose.

"Why choose this fancy place? Every meal here is very expensive. You should have chosen a normal restaurant” Rose whispered to Lelia.

"Why did I choose this place!" Lelia thought and noticed Bella smirking at her.

"So, it was you"

"Bella said you messaged her to bring us here" Rose whispered again.

"It's okay. Enjoy" Lelia was quietly counting how much money was in her purse.

Soon, the waiters brought the food. Everyone started eating except Lelia.

"What happened? Why are you not eating?" Rose asked her.

"I don't feel like eating. Please enjoy yourself. I need to use the washroom" Lelia excused herself and left from there.

Bella smirked and stood up.

When everyone looked at her she spoke up, "My boyfriend is calling me"

Making the excuse Bella followed Lelia.

When Lelia came out of the washroom, she found Bella standing at the door.

"What do you want?" Lelia asked her angrily.

"Oh, dear. Why are you so angry? You wanted to treat us lunch so I chose the place so you can show your deep hospitality" Bella said to her.

"I don't want to argue with you, move," Lelia said.

"I want to announce your graceful marriage and order a few bottles of wine. What do you say" Bella tried to blackmail her.

"Do it if you want me to expose your every relationship to your boyfriend" Lelia said and left from there and joined others.

When the waiter brought the bill Lelia's face turned pale.

"Ten thousand dollars" Lelia gritted her teeth in anger.

"I only have five thousand left in my purse. How on earth am I going to pay the bill?"

"Shall I share the bill with you?" Rose whispered into Lelia's ear.

Before Lelia could say anything, Bella snatched the bill from Lelia's hand and spoke up, "Only ten thousand dollars. Look, Lelia, your colleagues ate less thinking of you. The bill is not much for you, is it?"

"Bella, you shouldn't tease her like this" One of the colleagues spoke up.

"Come on guys, I was just asking a simple question," Bella said and stood behind Lelia.

"Don’t tell me you can’t afford to pay the bill? You can ask for my help. I have a friend who works at this restaurant. He will help you. As long as you agree to spend a night with him. I don't it is a bad deal. That disabled husband of yours can never satisfy you. It is a win-win situation. Why don't you give it a try?" Bella whispered to her.

Lelia fisted her hand and turned.

Slap! Before Bella could finish, Lelia gave her a tight slap and yelled, “Shut up!”

"How dare you?" Bella raised her hand to slap her back when a loud voice was heard in the room.

Everyone turned and saw Mark.

"What is happening here?" Mark asked coldly.

Duke was on the second floor attending a meeting when he noticed everything. When noticed that girl messing with Lelia. When the situation turned out bad, he sent Mark to deal with her.

"Mr. Mark, we were just attending a welcome party" Bella spoke up sweetly.

"Why did you slap her?" Mark asked Lelia.

"She was telling me to sleep with her waiter friend if I don't have money to pay the bill," Lelia spoke up, and Bella's face turned pale.

Mark is very close to the CEO. Only he has the right to enter the CEO's cabin. She didn't want to mess with him at any cost.

"Sir, it was a misunderstanding. I was just teasing her. She is my school friend" Bella spoke up immediately.

"I don't think a friend at school would do that, Miss Bella. Mr. Winters was upstairs and noticed everything. You tried to bully your fellow. You'll pay the bill in her place. If you don't agree to pay, I'm afraid That I have to get Mr. Winters involved in this,” Mark said, shocking Bella.

Everyone kept quiet. They didn't imagine Mark would show up to help Lelia.

"What is your answer?" Mark asked Bella.

"I will pay the bill," Bella said and gritted her teeth in anger.
