Chapter 13

The mansion was quiet, but Talia could feel the storm coming.

Serena wasn't done. That much was clear.

Her phone buzzed again. Another threatening message:

You can hide, but you can't escape me. He'll never stop thinking about me.

Talia's hands trembled as she stared at the words. Fear clawed at her chest, but a spark of determination burned through it.

No. She wouldn't be intimidated. Not this time.

Adrian found her pacing the balcony that evening. His expression darkened the moment he read her tense posture.

"Serena?" he asked, voice low, already knowing the answer.

"Yes," Talia admitted. "She... she's trying to get to me again. I can feel it."

He stepped closer, his presence overwhelming. "And you feel powerless?"

A flutter of nerves and something else - longing - ran through her chest. "A little."

He shook his head slowly. "Not anymore. You're not powerless. You're mine. And together, we'll handle this."

Talia swallowed hard. "But what if she-"

"She won't touch you," he interrupted sharply. "Not while I'm around."

She looked up at him, noticing the possessive fire in his eyes. He wasn't just protecting her. He wanted her. All of her. And that realization made her pulse race.

Later that night, Serena arrived at the mansion's edge, brazen and defiant.

"I told you this isn't over," she said, her voice cutting through the night air.

Adrian met her in the garden, calm but deadly. His dark eyes never left hers. "I warned you. Leave her alone."

Serena laughed softly, almost bitterly. "You can't protect her forever. And you can't stop me from wanting what's mine."

Adrian's jaw tightened. "What's hers is hers. What's mine is mine. And you are not mine to control. You will not harm her."

For a moment, the night held its breath. Serena's gaze flicked to the mansion, then back to Talia, who had been watching from a safe distance.

"You think you've won," Serena hissed, stepping back. "But I always have a way."

With that, she disappeared into the shadows, leaving a sense of danger that refused to dissipate.

Adrian turned to Talia, his expression softening only slightly. "Are you okay?" he asked.

Talia nodded, but her chest still ached with adrenaline. "I... I will be."

He stepped closer, placing a hand lightly on her shoulder. "You're stronger than you think. And I'll remind you every day. But you don't have to face her alone. Not ever."

She looked into his eyes, and for the first time, the words she'd been holding back threatened to escape.

"I... I trust you," she whispered, voice trembling. "And... I think I..."

Adrian's hand tilted her chin gently, so she met his gaze. "You don't have to say it," he murmured. "I know. And I feel the same."

Her heart thundered. The contract was no longer just a set of rules. It was a life, a connection... a dangerous, thrilling, undeniable pull between them.

And Talia realized, with a shiver she couldn't ignore: she was falling for him.

Chapter 14

The mansion was quiet, but tension thickened the air like a storm about to break.

Talia sat in the study, trying to calm her racing thoughts. Serena's last threats echoed in her mind. She hated feeling small, powerless, but she wasn't anymore.

Adrian appeared silently behind her chair, hand resting gently on her shoulder. The touch was grounding, protective, and it made her chest flutter.

"Are you ready?" he asked, voice low.

"For what?" Talia whispered.

"To face her. Together."

Her heart skipped. The thought of confronting Serena made her nervous, but with Adrian at her side, she felt... stronger.

The garden was empty when they arrived. Serena stepped out of the shadows, lips curved in a smirk, confidence radiating from her.

"You brought her out to play?" she taunted, eyes glinting.

"Yes," Adrian said firmly. His hand brushed Talia's lightly. "Because you don't scare her. I do."

Serena's smirk faltered, but she quickly recovered. "You think this ends with me leaving? I've always gotten what I want."

Adrian stepped forward, protective and commanding. "Not this time. Not her. Not ever."

Talia felt her chest tighten. Adrian's intensity was dangerous, intoxicating. She realized that she didn't just feel safe - she felt wanted, more than she'd ever imagined.

Serena stepped closer, and for a moment, Talia felt fear creeping back. But then Adrian placed a firm hand on her back, guiding her forward.

"You face me with him," Serena hissed, glaring at Talia. "You're just a contract, a temporary distraction."

"I'm not temporary," Talia said firmly, voice steadier than she expected. "I am here. With him. And I won't let you control me anymore."

Adrian's eyes flicked to hers, pride and something else - something softer - shining in their depths.

Serena's jaw tightened, realizing she was losing control. "This isn't over," she warned, before retreating into the shadows.

Talia exhaled, adrenaline rushing. She turned to Adrian, heart pounding. "I... I did it," she whispered.

"You did," he said softly, stepping closer. His hand brushed her cheek, warm and steady. "And I'm proud of you."

Her chest tightened. "I... I don't know what I'd do without you."

"You'll never have to find out," he said, voice low, possessive, and utterly sincere. "Because I'm not going anywhere."

Talia's heart thundered. The contract was no longer a series of rules. It was a bond - dangerous, passionate, real.

And in that moment, under the night sky, she realized one undeniable truth: she was falling for Adrian Blackwood... completely, irrevocably, and without reservation.

Chapter 15

The mansion was unusually quiet that morning, but Talia could feel the storm brewing.

Her phone buzzed again. Another message from Serena:

You think you're safe? Think again. He'll always want me, and soon you'll regret standing in my way.

Talia's hands trembled. But this time, fear didn't control her. She squared her shoulders and whispered, "I'm done running."

Adrian found her in the garden, reading the message. His dark eyes narrowed as he read the threat.

"You received another one," he said quietly. His tone was deadly calm, but Talia could feel the fire behind it.

"Yes," she admitted. "I... I don't know what she'll do next."

Adrian stepped closer, taking her hands in his. "Then we face it together," he said firmly. "No more hiding. No more fear."

Her pulse raced. She realized something she hadn't fully admitted: she wanted him near. More than that - she wanted him to fight for her, protect her, and... claim her.

Later that evening, the mansion's security alerted them: Serena had been spotted near the perimeter, attempting to gain access.

Adrian's expression darkened. "This ends tonight," he growled.

He led Talia to the main hall, his hand brushing hers - a grounding, possessive touch that made her chest flutter.

Serena appeared, bold and defiant as ever. "You think you've won?" she sneered.

Adrian stepped forward, placing himself between Talia and Serena. "I told you," he said, voice low and commanding, "she is not yours to touch."

Serena's smirk faltered. She glared at Talia. "You'll see. He'll never truly belong to you."

Talia met her gaze, fear and anger mingling. "He does belong to me. And I'm not afraid of you anymore."

For the first time, Serena hesitated. She saw the fire in Talia's eyes - a courage she hadn't expected.

Adrian's hand found hers again, holding it firmly. "You're mine," he said softly, possessively. "And no one will take you from me. Not now, not ever."

Talia's heart thundered. The words sent warmth and heat through her body. She realized, finally and completely, that the contract was gone - at least in meaning. What they had was real, dangerous, and all-consuming.

Serena backed away, realizing the battle was lost - at least for now. "This isn't over," she hissed before disappearing into the shadows.

Adrian turned to Talia, pulling her close. The fire in his eyes softened, replaced with something warmer, tender.

"You're safe," he whispered, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "And you're mine. Always."

Talia's chest tightened. She pressed closer to him, finally letting herself relax. "I... I'm yours," she admitted, voice trembling with emotion.

He cupped her face gently, lips brushing hers in a soft, possessive kiss. "And I'm yours," he murmured back, his voice low and full of promise.

The mansion seemed to vanish around them. The threats, the contract, the past - none of it mattered. There was only them. Only this moment. Only the undeniable pull of two hearts that had found each other despite the chaos.

For the first time, Talia felt completely safe, completely desired, and completely in love.
