Love That Cannot be Returned Chapter 1

My husband, Parvez, had a hard time fighting criminals. I had to help him. But the criminal was cleverer than I thought and managed to stab me in the stomach.

I couldn't scream because I was in so much pain.

I hadn't told my husband I was pregnant. I was so afraid of losing our child.

I couldn't hold back the tears.

After stabbing me, the criminal ran away.

My husband, instead of hugging me, stood about six feet away from me. He called the hospital.

My eyes immediately closed and everything went dark.

Somehow I ended up at home instead of the hospital.

Wait. What happened to my body?

I quickly came to the conclusion that I was dead.

My breath stopped when I found my husband making out with Lucia.

"Parvez, don't you want to see your wife?" asked Lucia in a spoiled tone.

Since when did my husband get back together with his old lover?

Did he call Lucia at home when I was taken to the hospital?

Or had they been playing behind my back all along?

I was immediately filled with resentment.

No wonder that every time I met Lucia, my husband was always kind to her. He used to tell me that Lucia was an annoying woman and that's why he didn't want to be with her, but now the opposite was happening.

When I talked about his friendliness towards Lucia, Parvez scolded me.

"What is the point of visiting him? She'll be home soon. Even though she hates you, you're still nice to her. You are the best."

Parvez gently hugged Lucia.

Suddenly Parvez's cell phone rang.

I went over to answer it.

It was from the hospital.

Parvez checked it and then, after turning it off, thru the phone on the sofa farther away.

"Neira must have regained consciousness. There's no way she can go home now, so I won't go there."

"I'm so glad you're alright, Parvez. If you had been hurt, I would have been very sad and depressed."

"It's Neira's fault because she insisted on going out to buy food at an hour when she should have been sleeping. She can't blame me because she just threw herself into the abyss".

It's because I had cravings.

"I will never forgive Neira.”

I couldn't stop thinking about them.

My husband was like that behind my back.

I couldn't help laughing.

Now I am dead. Parvez must be very happy. He can finally be with his girlfriend again.

Parvez's cell phone rang again.

Annoyed, Parvez finally picked up his phone and turned it off, rejecting all incoming calls and messages.

"Neira is very spoiled. She must be crying for you right now. You can leave me, Parvez," Lucia said in a sad tone. She started pretending to cry.”

Parvez immediately went back to Lucia and hugged her tightly. "No Lucia. I am here for you. I cannot tolerate Neira for the crimes she has committed against you. It's only natural that she was stabbed. For she is also very evil."

The assistant approached Parvez. "Sir, there is a call from the hospital."

The phone handed by the assistant rang.

Parvez picked up the phone and threw it on the floor where it broke. "Never show me a cell phone again!"

"But sir, what about Mrs. Neira?"

The assistant asked with a worried expression.

"The hospital called because Neira regained consciousness!" Parvez snapped.

"But..."

Praves shouted at the assistant again. The assistant picked up the phone that Parvez had thrown.

I lost my baby.

I was willing to sacrifice my life for my husband, but I didn't expect it to end like this.

If Parvez had known I was pregnant, would he have yelled at me to stay away instead of asking me to help him fight the bad guys?

I turned around and tried to get out of that house.

At the hospital, I was in the morgue.

It was true. I was dead.

I was terrified as I looked at my own body.

"The patient's family cannot be contacted," one of the nurses said to the doctor.

"Then call the family!"

My family was eventually contacted by the hospital.

They didn't believe I was dead. Instead, they said the hospital had the wrong person.

But my sister, Yumna, contacted my husband to find out the truth.

"What?"

Parvez shouted angrily.

"What kind of hospital is this? There's no way Neira is dead. When I took her to the hospital, she was alive and well. Even though she was stabbed, it was only a small wound. You've been lied to.

Parvez told my sister to tell the hospital not to give false reports of my death.

My family became increasingly disbelieving at the news of my death. Only Yumna felt uneasy.

"Parvez, didn't you go out for dinner?" asked Lucia.

"Yes, I did," Parvez replied.

Parvez left his cell phone behind.

Parvez calmed down when Lucia put her arm around him.
