Give the Lesson to the Cheated Husband and Wicked Mother In-Law Chapter 1

The spreading news of Serena accepted Felix's marriage proposal, had shocked the entire entertainment circle.

Felix Marquez, with his natural smile and captivating eyes, had a natural charm that seemed to flow through him and a deep affection that lies hidden on his lips—a true playboy.

As for Serena Danish, was an unattainable beauty, haughty and graceful, like an angel came down from heaven, so enchanting that one dared not look directly at her and dared not tarnish her.

The young CEOs all over California were pounding their chests in frustration, wondering why the haughty and graceful angel was so easily snatched away by the most unreliable playboy?

The one who was most dissatisfied with the proposal marriage was Serena's adopted younger sister, Jennifer Danish.

Her personality was completely different from her sister's. She was bright and outgoing and showed no kindness whatsoever to her equally unrestrained brother-in-law.

The entire California came to congratulate them on the wedding, but Jennifer was unhappy. "That playboy, Felix, what right does he have to marry my sister!"

During their argument, a candlestick was knocked over and flames spread along the gauze curtains, whipping up half the ceiling.

The highly anticipated grand wedding ultimately ended abruptly.

Serena was always caught between the two most important people in her life and consoled herself.

One was too passionate and the other too wild — but they will eventually find a way to get along.

They were her closest and dearest people after all.

Until that day when she found a pair of men's underwear under the bed. In the middle of the underwear, there were several small, yet conspicuous, cigarette holes.

Serena froze in place for a few seconds.

She disliked the smell of smoke and Felix had long since quit smoking for her sake.

The only person who allowed to enter this room and smoked was her younger sister, Jennifer.

Her fingertips felt cold and her thoughts were tangled beyond repair.

These underwear could only belong to Felix.

And those cigarette butts, one after another, burned away — how much time had it taken and who dared to do such a thing so calmly?

She wanted to get to the bottom of this in front of him.

Just as she reached the private underground parking garage, she heard ambiguous voices coming from not far away.

A lump seemed to form in her throat. She looked up in the direction of the voices, only to find the car windows tightly shut and blurry silhouette clung tightly together.

Even from far away, she could recognize the two people at a glance.

The closer she got, the clearer their voices became.

"Won't she suspect something?" Her sister's voice came from inside the car. "You were so good at arguing with me and convincing."

Felix's voice followed immediately, tinged with ambiguity. "No, the better we act, the more she'll worry about us and the safer we'll be. Besides, if you hadn't made me marry her, I wouldn't have bothered acting."

Serena's heart skipped a beat.

What does it mean?

Was it Jennifer who asked him to marry her?

"Don't try to shift the blame onto me. I only said I'd bring her down from her high position, but you were the one who actually did it."

Jennifer looked up at him, her eyes burning with fervor. "You were the one who said the Danishs heiress was a presentable trophy." Serena's nails dug deep into her palms, the pain almost suffocating her.

A trophy?

Her mind buzzed like someone hit her in the head and her entire world seemed to recede back.

"So what if she's a trophy?" said Felix without hesitation, even with a hint of smugness, "Which man in the city hasn't secretly been eyeing her? Marrying her is like slapping them all in the face. Who wouldn't envy me? Who wouldn't be jealous of me? They all think I've been won over by her, but actually, it was someone else who won me over long ago."

Serena couldn't see their gazes at that moment, only the two figures extremely close to each other.

Her throat felt as if something was blocking it and she couldn't utter a sound.

“Felix.” Jennifer suddenly stopped laughing, her tone tinged with gloom. “Don’t you think she’s too pure, so pure that I want to ruin her?”

Serena stood in the shadows, feeling as if she had been thrown into cold water.

She never imagined, the girl she brought home, the girl she had lived with since childhood, the sister who cried while hugging her at her wedding, would say "ruin her" in such a calm, even joyful tone.

Jennifer's voice lowered, filled with deep-seated jealousy. "Do you know when I started hating her?"

"It was our dad who told me to study hard and help her in the future. She’s a girl who will have to shoulder the burden of the Danishs—it’ll be really tough."

"I, at that moment, realized that I could do anything for her, but I would never receive the same love and affection from everyone. So I wanted to see what she would look like when she learned the truth one day."

Felix chuckled softly and responded, "Jennifer, you're even worse than me."

"Same goes for you," she said, running her hand up his chest, "You're the one who told our dad you'd love her forever. You know, how convincing you were, even I almost believed it."

“Well, there was no other way.” Felix chuckled lightly. “Otherwise, would he entrust his daughter’s shares to me with peace of mind?”

Serena's breath rose and fell.

No wonder her father, Stanley Danish, had been saying lately that Felix was a steady and reliable young man and had told her that he wanted to transfer some of the shares first.

She had always thought it was her father's way of acknowledging her son-in-law.

Only now did she realize it was just a trap -- a trap set from the very beginning, with her as the bait.

It felt as if someone had torn open her chest from the inside and the pain was excruciating. She slightly bent over, hoping that would ease the pain.

"Don't worry, Jennifer." Felix's voice became lazy again. "Once we get our hands on the Danishs' stuff, we can do whatever we want with them."

"Then, you can do whatever you want to her, I'll be with you."

“Imagine ....” Jennifer squinted. “If one day everyone in California knew that the 'high-and-mighty angel' was actually just a joke being played with, wouldn’t she go crazy?”

“Wouldn’t that be even more interesting?” He chuckled softly.

"I'd rather see the angel, fall from the heaven and shatter into pieces than the angel from the heaven."

The last sentence utterly crushed the one and only heiress of the Danish Family.

It felt as if someone had forcefully submerged her in water, cutting off her breath.

The ungrateful girl she brought back never treated her like a sister, she only saw the Danish Family as a stepping stone to higher places.

The marriage she had carefully cherished was just a bargaining chip on someone else's gambling table.

She suddenly straightened up.

She raised her hand, slowly releasing her fingertips, white from the force, revealing deep red, glaring nail marks on her palm.

Tears welled in her eyes, but not fall.

She, Serena, never bowed her head to anyone. Even at this moment, when her heart had been ripped out.

She suddenly became extremely calm, calm to the point of not being oneself.

Staring out the car window, she dialed the phone expressionlessly and said, "Hello, I want to report a disturbance—there's a group of people causing a commotion."
