I Won a Hundred Million on the Day We Divorced Chapter 1

My name was Cliff Beck. My wife complained that I had no money or power. Unexpectedly, on the day of our divorce, I won the lottery and became a billionaire.

After becoming single again, I was pursued by my beautiful and wealthy boss, and my life reached its peak.

"There must be countless men wanting you to be their girlfriend. Why did you choose me?"

"Because you are worth it."

"As long as you agree to divorce Sasha, I will personally give you 200,000 dollars."

After dinner, while I was washing dishes, I suddenly heard my mother-in-law Vita Wilkinson suggest this, and my heart ached.

I looked up at my wife, Sasha Meyer, who was sitting in the living room browsing TikTok as if it had nothing to do with her.

"Divorce her? OK."

Seeing that I finally agreed, Sasha looked up at me with surprise.

"Great! How about today?" She couldn't wait.

Vita seemed a little incredulous. "Seriously? You really agree?"

"Yes." I calmly put the forks back on the table and took off the apron. "But I have two conditions."

"What is it? As long as you agree to divorce, I will say yes to all," Sasha smiled.

This was the first time I had seen her smile in the six months since she had asked me for a divorce.

"First, I don't want the house, the car, or the savings, but the Meyer family should give me a million dollars. And don't forget about the 200,000 dollars Vita has just mentioned."

Although Sasha did not immediately agree, she did not object either, because I knew that a million dollars was nothing to the Meyer family.

"Second, I want 30 percent of the company's equity..."

"No way!"

Before I finished speaking, Vita couldn't remain calm. "Sasha's father left the company for her. It has nothing to do with you. You want 30 percent of the company's equity? Do you have no shame at all?"

"Then forget it. We won't get a divorce then. I don't mind raising another man's baby."

Sasha's face was twisted due to anger. She said, "You are so cruel! The baby's father should be with me and our baby. What's in it for you to break us up?"

Vita slapped me in the face and scolded, "Finally, you expose your true colors! You were only after my family's money from the beginning. You are from a poor family indeed. You have no upbringing at all!"

She wanted to hit me again, but I blocked her hand.

"You dare to hit me?" Vita was shocked. Sasha wanted to attack me, but she didn't dare.

'You can insult me, but not my family," I said word by word. "I have evidence of Sasha's affair. Since she is pregnant with someone else's baby, she is at fault. If we go to court, the house and the car will be mine. The market value of this house is at least 8 million dollars. If you upset me, you won't end up well."

After a moment of silence, Sasha said, "Tell you what? I will give you an additional 200,000 dollars, making it a total of 1.4 million dollars. But I really can't give you the company's equity. I'm begging you."

She stood between Vita and me, with a pleading expression on her face.

I affected thought for a few minutes before saying, "OK."

"Let's go to the courthouse now."

"Sign the agreement before that. I will go after I receive the money," I said.

Sasha was worried that I would ask her for money again after we divorced, so she added a clause at the end of the agreement. It read, "From the day of signing the agreement, both parties shall have no property disputes and shall not request the division of any property."

I smiled because it was just what I wanted. This would prevent her from plotting my money in the future.

Before I signed, the 1.4 million dollars was transferred to my account in three separate transactions, and I received them instantly.

After getting the divorce certificate from the courthouse, I strode forward without any nostalgia, never looking back at that "home" again.

Carrying a small bag, I first went to the high-end real estate that I had already set my sights on and reserved two apartments.

One was for myself, and the other was for rent. The one I would be living in was a luxurious apartment over 200 square meters, and it had four bedrooms and two living rooms, and the one for rent was 80 square meters, and it had two bedrooms and one living room.

I only paid a deposit. After all, I hadn't received the money from the lottery yet.
