I Died When My Stepsister Married My Mate Chapter 1

AURORA'S POV

“Aurora, you better get here as soon as possible! The wedding is soon starting and if you don't get here now, you'll be dead to me!”My mother's harsh streamed through the phone angrily.

“Mom, please, I can't afford to give Clara that amount of money. It's for the payment of my new home!”

“Aurora Davidson!” she shrilled, “How selfish can you get?! Two hundred thousand dollars is too much for Clara as a gift?! You better bring the entire sum and get here now!”

How ironic?! My mother was pushing me to attend the wedding of my evil step-sister and my mate - Alpha Brent.

I knew I had no choice.

I had to go to the wedding or else my mom would make my life more miserable than it was. It was already a cycle of pain and misery that I couldn't break free of, no matter how much I tried. To them, I was a worthless thing who deserved nothing. I was their plaything, a dog that got kicked and beaten into the corner any time they wanted.

When I was two years old, my grandfather had gotten into an accident and died because I had been crying for ice-cream. My mother had hated me since then, blaming me for killing her father. I had known no love from her since. The only love I had felt in my life was from my father, but unfortunately, he

had died seven years later in from the injuries he got from a fire.

Before, he had died, he had promised me with a calm smile that I would never lack love in this world, that my mother and brother would give me all the love I needed.

You were wrong, Dad. They hate me.

Suddenly, I froze. I had heard footsteps behind me. I swiveled to look behind me, my eyes darting around the forest.

I couldn't see anyone but my mind told me I was not alone. Someone was following me.

I quickly dialed my mom's number.

“Mom, I think I'm being followed. I'm —”

“Seriously, Aurora, you don't need to make excuses all because you don't want to show up for Clara's wedding!”

“I'm not lying, Mom! I swe—,”

Suddenly, I was yanked backward and my phone flew out of my hand.

A strong hand wrapped around my mouth, stifling the scream that tore from my throat. Panic surged through me as I struggled against the iron grip holding me in place. I twisted, kicked, clawed—anything to break free—but it was no use.

I could hear my mom still speaking on the phone.

“Help!” I screamed, hoping she would hear me.

“Aurora, you ungrateful child, you better be at the party in ten minutes! Even if it's going to kill you, be here!”

“Mom, help me!”

“Shut up and get to the wedding!”

Then she hung up. I was all on my own now.

I tried to bite down on the hand covering my mouth, but it only earned me a harsh shove to the ground. Pain exploded in my side as I hit the hard earth, my breath knocked out of me.

“Please…” My voice was barely above a whisper, hoarse and desperate. “Jackson... Mom... Someone… please…”

But there was no one to hear me.

He was a rogue, I could tell. He loomed over me, his eyes cold, devoid of any mercy. I could see the intent there, the promise of violence, and a terror like I had never known gripped me.

He licked his black lips. “I'm going to fuck you so good.”

“No,” I cried. “No, please, no.”

I scratched and clawed and bite, but it did no good.

“Noo! Get off me!”

I reached out and grabbed a stone, managing to hit him on the shoulder with it.

"Stay still, you fuckin hell cat!" The rogue yelled, punching me on the side of the face

I spat in his face and hissed with my fangs out.

"You bitch!"

I tried to reach for the stone again but he knocked it out of my hand before I could wrap my fingers around it.

"You aren't getting off that easily."

"If you kill me, you won't go scout-free. I promise you that. I’m a pack princess! My family will hunt you down!" I threatened. It was all a bluff. If I died, no one would be miss me but I had to do something. I won't lay down here like a lamb for slaughter.

Tauntingly, with a wicked grin on his face, he ran a finger down my cheek.

"Get your filthy finger off me!"

"It ain't just my finger that's gonna be in you, Sweetie pie."

I reared up, trying to get myself free from underneath him but it was futile.

Then his hand went down below my skirt and shoved my panties aside.

"No!" I screamed, tears and desperation clogging my throat. "Somebody help me!"

"You can scream till eternity, sweetheart, but ain't no one gonna come for you."

"Leave me alone, you bastard! Get off me!"

But it was in vain. He took what he wanted and when he was done, he brought out a tiny silver chain and wrapped it tight around my neck - the fastest way to kill a werewolf.

I choked and struggled to pull off the silver as the burn spread across my skin rapidly.

“M-Mom…” I gasped out, my thoughts a desperate plea for help. “Mom, please…”

But there was no response, just the cold, uncaring silence of the forest around me. I knew she wasn’t coming. Even if she heard me, she wouldn’t come. She never had.

The pain was unbearable, but as the darkness started to creep in at the edges of my vision, my thoughts drifted away from the agony. Instead, they went to the one person who had ever truly loved me: my father. I could see his face, kind and gentle, with that warm smile that always made me feel safe. I clung to the memory, desperate to hold on to the love he’d given me, the love that had been my only source of comfort for so long.

“Dad…” I whispered, tears streaming down my face, mixing with the blood on the ground. “I’m so sorry. I’m coming to see you, Father. "
