His First Love Came Back, I Disappeared Chapter 1

Without telling my family, I became the substitute of a wealthy young man's beloved girl for two years.

After his beloved girl returned, I took the 300 million dollars in compensation he gave me and went back to my hometown happily.

To prevent neighbors from gossiping, I told them that I couldn't make it in the city and went home.

It happened to be a rainy day on the day back. I didn't want to trouble my mother Mary Wilson, so I asked my brother Ethan Wilson to pick me up.

Ethan agreed, "Okay, Scarlett. The car you bought for me is to serve you."

However, when I walked home in the rain, I realized that he hadn't gone out at all.

Standing at the door, I heard the fierce quarrel inside.

"Mom, give me all the cards that Scarlett gave to you. I'm going to exchange them for cash now. She can check the records of the transfer.

"Tell her that the car she bought for me was sent for repair. Don't let her know that I sold it."

My hand that was about to knock on the door froze in mid-air.

Before I had time to think about it, Ethan's footsteps were getting closer and closer. I quickly turned around and pretended that I had just gone upstairs.

He pushed the door open and saw me, with a forced smile on his face.

"Scarlett, it's raining so hard. Didn't I say I would pick you up? Why did you come back by yourself?"

I paused as I bent over to change my shoes and turned to meet Mary's inquiring gaze, who showed a frown on her face.

"It's okay. The train arrived early. I was afraid that Ethan would get wet in the rain, so I took a taxi back."

When Mary heard my words, she was so anxious that she almost rushed over.

"Scarlett, how could you take a taxi? The news said that those drivers deliberately take you on a long route to earn more. Ethan has a car. You can ask him to pick you up. Why..."

I held on to the shoe cabinet with my hands.

In fact, the car didn't arrive early at all.

The time I told Ethan was right, but he never took it seriously.

They probably knew I might stay at home for a long time, so they were busy discussing countermeasures and had long forgotten about picking me up.

In Mary's eyes, every penny I saved was for Ethan's future marriage.

There was bitterness in my eyes.

I reached out and opened the shoe cabinet to look for my slippers, but I didn't find them.

"Mom, where are my slippers?"

Mary said impatiently, "I don't know. I'm your mother, not a nanny."

But she knew exactly where Ethan's things were.

I didn't want to argue anymore and just bowed my head.

It was just a pair of slippers, and I would buy it tomorrow.

Ethan hesitated and said, "Scarlett. When Jenny came here, I didn't prepare anything, so I just picked up a pair of slippers for her. Maybe it's yours..."

He immediately lowered his head after he said that. He did something that even he felt embarrassed about.

Mary snorted coldly and said nothing. Then she turned to watch TV.

I walked in dragging two large suitcases, but no one came to help me.

I almost didn't recognize my room when I opened the door.

A pink girlish style replaced the previous simple white style, and the bed, windows, and everywhere were filled with the dolls I once hated the most.

I was very angry.

"Is this my bedroom? I just didn't come back for a year."

Ethan touched his nose awkwardly and looked at Mary on the sofa for help.

Mary seemed to have just reacted and said, "Well, I forgot to tell you. Your room hasn't been occupied for a long time, so I rented it out. You know the situation of our family. Ethan doesn't have a job..."

I interrupted her before she could finish.

"Didn't I buy a house for Ethan? Why did you rent my bedroom out?"

Hearing my question, Mary showed a gloomy face.

"If he wants to get married, a house is not enough. He has to give the girl and her family gifts. You are his sister but don't help him. I came up with a solution. Why are you questioning me?"

Mary was so angry that she crossed her arms over her chest and threw the remote control into the corner of the sofa.

I sneered, "So what's your plan? You rent out my bedroom to make money for him?"

Mary raised her eyebrows and looked at me. "Isn't this considered as your help for him?"
