Disappeared Property, Huge Conspiracy Chapter 1

My husband's sister Daisy Levy was a bit wired.

She was always inexplicably hostile to me and liked to say in front of me that her brother would always be hers.

My husband explained that they were just too close and that his sister was saying that because she was insecure.

I believed him.

But how could siblings sleep together on the same bed?

"Let's get a divorce." I held Sprite's already cold body, unable to stop my tears, and said to Patrick Abbott with a broken heart.

Patrick found it unbelievable, with a hint of disdain at the corner of his mouth, he said, "Is it necessary for a dog?"

"Yes." I glared at Patrick fiercely. I left with Sprite's body, unwilling to stay any longer.

Patrick and I fell in love during our student days and then got married, envied by many people...

Even though my parents did not agree with my marrying him.

Even though he had a step-sister with an abnormal relationship.

Even though he didn't like me that much.

I was foolishly thinking that I could endure it as long as he liked me a little bit.

I could marry the man I loved when I was a student. I was satisfied with that.

But until today I realized that maybe he didn't even have a little bit of like for me.

This afternoon, when I returned home after hanging out with friends, I sensed that something was wrong as soon as I opened the door.

My golden retriever Sprite, who usually rushed over to greet me, didn't make a sound for a long time.

I looked up and saw my husband Patrick's sister sitting on the sofa, crying and sobbing, with a white cat in her arms.

And my husband was gently patting her back, comforting her, "It's okay, don't be sad. I will take you to buy pretty clothes, okay?"

Daisy was Patrick's stepfather's daughter, so they had no blood relation. However, their relationship was very good.

Their relationship was so good that it made me feel strange.

Daisy seemed frightened, her body trembling slightly and she didn't respond to Patrick's words.

I was already used to it. Trying hard to suppress the strange emotions in my heart, I calmly asked, "What happened to Daisy?"

Seeing me come back, a flash of obvious disgust flashed in Patrick's eyes, and he said in a bad mood, "It's all because of your dog, scaring Daisy!"

I frowned and hurriedly asked, "What did Sprite do?"

Sprite was a golden retriever my parents left to me after they died. It was usually very well-behaved and affectionate. The only time I saw it upset was when the man maliciously kicked it many times. I went to the bathroom then and came back to see Sprite barking viciously at the man.

That person knew he was in the wrong and didn't dare to argue, so he quickly ran away.

Patrick's anger rose again, "What did it do? It actually dared to bite Daisy! Luckily, Coco stopped it!"

I didn't believe that Sprite would bite Daisy for no reason. Besides, he was the only one who would believe that cats could stop dogs from biting people!

My hands hanging at my sides clenched into fists. I closed my eyes and said, "Where is Sprite now?"

Patrick glanced at me, his anger not hidden, "Where else can it go? I throw it away!"

"Patrick, that's the dog my parents left behind! Who gave you the right to throw it away? Where did you throw it?" Hearing this, I finally couldn't control my emotions and shouted angrily.

Patrick obviously didn't expect me to be so angry, and his handsome face immediately turned gloomy.

Daisy was also frightened by my shout and quickly leaned into Patrick's arms in fear.

Yes, I would only obey him.

How could I dare to lose my temper towards him?

"How do I remember!"

His careless words left me breathless.

The ringing of the phone in my bag broke the silence.

It was an unfamiliar phone call, and I answered it after a moment of hesitation.

"Hello, is this Ms. Conner? This is Blue Sky Pet Hospital. Your pet dog has just been brought in for emergency treatment after being hit by someone..." The girl on the phone said urgently.

I was afraid that Shelby was lost so I wrote my number on the dog collar.

I didn't expect that the first time it worked would be a matter of life and death.

Tears flowed uncontrollably, and I quickly drove to the hospital.

Unfortunately, it was already too late when I arrived.

That was the last item my parents left me.

Yes, a dog made me want to end this 8-year painful marriage.

But that was the last step that crushed me.

Countless details made me feel suffocated when I thought back.

He would buy the dress I liked first for Daisy just because she said she liked it. But that was something I never got.

When my mother-in-law Jane Abbott liked the butterfly gold necklace my mother left me, before I could even react, Patrick would give it to his mom and then scold me, "What's wrong with giving it to mother? Anyway, you have so many necklaces. Don't be so petty!"

I was the only one who would be busy around during family gatherings, while their family were happily watching TV and chatting in the living room.

I gradually changed from a 'spoiled princess' who never did any housework to a 'haggard-looking wife' who could cook a table full of dishes in an hour.

Sometimes, I even couldn't sit at the table.

...

Had Patrick ever considered me or shared the burden with me???
