After Rebirth, I Switched My Dad's Rare Treasure Chapter 1

In my past life, after my father acquired a rare treasure, he meticulously plotted to divorce my mother.

My mother left the marriage with nothing, while my father and his stepsister claimed all the wealth.

Unable to bear the devastation, my mother fell into deep depression and eventually passed away.

My father's stepsister forged a paternity test, convincing my father that I wasn't his biological child.

In his fury, my father used me as a stepping stone to climb the social ladder.

When I was no longer of any use, his stepsister drained the last bit of value from me, leaving me unconscious.

They discarded me into the wilderness and left me to die.

But now, I've opened my eyes again—back to the time before my parents divorced.

1.

"Divorce! We must divorce!"

My father's enraged voice echoed from downstairs, followed by the sound of shattered dishes and my mother's restrained, heart-wrenching sobs.

I stood there, stunned, taking in everything around me. Had I been reborn?

I had been reborn back to the time before my parents' divorce.

A shiver ran down my spine as I quickly decided against comforting my mother. Instead, I snuck into my father's study.

In my previous life, my father had obtained a priceless treasure and kept it secret from my mother and me. He used it to orchestrate my mother's departure and swiftly remarried Judy Best, his cunning and malevolent stepsister.

The blow of the divorce led my mother into a spiral of depression, eventually ending her life.

My father and his stepsister then confined me in a villa, cutting off all my contact with the outside world.

I was force-fed rare imported foods daily, purportedly beneficial to my health.

When the time came, they made their move.

My father had a major business client whose son suffered from an eye condition. To secure the deal, my father donated my corneas.

As a result, my father's business empire was growing and his future was bright.

I, however, was left in darkness.

My body harvested piece by piece—kidneys, liver, all used to elevate them to the top.

By the time I was on the verge of death, lying like a discarded rag on the cold basement floor, Judy walked in. Her voice, cold and exhilarated, echoed through the room, "He doesn't have long now, but he still has one last bit of value."

She left, and someone approached me with cold instruments.

A sharp needle pierced my body, draining my rare blood, a commodity in high demand.

The chilling feeling spread to every part of my body and I trembled uncontrollably, but I was too weak to make a sound.

As my warm blood flowed out, I closed my eyes and completely lost consciousness.

My father and Judy dumped my body in the wilderness, leaving it for vultures and wild dogs to tear apart.

My father's stepsister was triumphant.

"You filthy scum, this is the fate you deserve, Arthur Best. After all, your mother stole my love. When you meet her in hell, she can relish in your misery! How will she feel? Hahaha, it makes me happy just thinking about it."

2.

After my death, my father and his stepsister sold the treasure, amassing a fortune. With connections I had once helped him build, my father's business empire expanded rapidly, soon making him the wealthiest man in the region.

They had two children and indulged in a life of success and luxury.

Recalling the events of my previous life, I clenched my fists in anger.

This time, I would make them pay for what they did.

Calming my emotions, I quickly located and photographed the treasure my father had hidden in his study before rushing out of the house.

When I returned home, my mother was disheveled, her face marked with fresh red handprints.

She lay helplessly on the floor, clutching the sofa, muttering in pain, "I did nothing wrong... I did nothing wrong..."

Judy stood above her, berating her with venomous words, her bright red lips moving with every insult.

"How disgusting can you be? You've brought nothing but shame to the Best family!" she spat.

"Are you that desperate for men? Five at once? You might as well become a prostitute—five or fifty a day, it wouldn't make a difference!"

"My brother is always so nice to you, and this is how you treat him? How can he hold his head up in front of others when you cheat on him?"

These words inflamed my father further. His face twisted with anger, he kicked my mother hard, causing her to fall, her head striking the edge of the coffee table, blood quickly pooling on the floor.

"You bitch! I work my ass off for this family, and this is how you repay me? By whoring around? Today, I'm going to teach you a lesson you won't forget!"

After saying that, he raised his hand to strike her again, but I grabbed it just in time.

I glared at him fiercely, "Dad, do you want to beat my mother to death?"

He wrenched my hand free, his face darkening, and spat at my mother. "Whore! We're getting a divorce, no matter what!"

Judy cradled her belly, a smug smile tugging at her lips.

3.

In my previous life, they had forced my mother into a similar situation. With the evidence against my mother, she had no choice but to leave with nothing.

My mother, soft-hearted and hopelessly in love, had always placed my father on a pedestal.

Even when wronged, she refused to fight for herself.

But I knew better. My mother had done nothing wrong. The evidence they held was part of their elaborate trap.

I rushed over, helping my disheartened mother onto the sofa, quickly pressing a tissue to her bleeding wound.

Holding up my phone, I confronted my father and Judy.

"I have recorded everything you just did to my mother. Bill Best, what do you think will happen to your company if I release this?"

My dad was visibly stunned.

My father was a self-made man who had worked his way up by marrying into my mother's wealthy family.

My mother's father had helped him establish a mother-and-baby product company, and he had carefully crafted an image as the perfect husband and father. It was this image that won over so many mothers, driving his business success.

He softened his tone, "Arthur, your mother betrayed me. I'm determined to get a divorce. You're my good son. After the divorce, you'll live a good life with me."

Judy's expression darkened.

Live with them? The memory of my tragic death was still fresh in my mind, the hatred inside me surging like a tide.

It's said that even a tiger won't eat its cubs, but my father was worse than a beast.

My gaze turned icy. "Dad, if you're so sure my mom betrayed you, let's call the police."

I started dialing, but my father and Judy lunged at me, snatching the phone from my hand. My father forced a strained smile. "Arthur, family matters shouldn't be aired in public. How would I show my face if the police got involved?"

Suddenly, Judy burst into laughter, clutching my phone. "Hahaha, Arthur, I've deleted your video."

4.

Judy wasn't originally part of the Best family. Her real surname was Brown. the Best family had taken her in after her father died, and her mother remarried. She had been living with them as a daughter ever since, changing her name to Judy Best. To the outside world, she and my father were siblings, but in truth, they were lovers, conspiring together in secret.

Judy, now in her thirties, was still single, devoted to my father. She even stayed in his company as an executive, wielding more influence over the household than my mother. My mother, gentle and easygoing, had become more of a housekeeper than a wife, busying herself with chores while Judy ran the show.

Watching Judy's smug expression, I couldn't help but sneer. "Do you think deleting the video changes anything? I've already backed it up. It's useless to delete it."

Her face immediately darkened, and she threw the phone at me.

"Anyway, your mother still betrayed the Best family. This divorce is happening!"

Staring at her snake-like face, recalling the horrors she inflicted on me in my past life, I clenched my fists tightly.

"Divorce? Who do you think you are, Judy? You're not even part of this family. What right do you have to meddle in our affairs? Or are you scared to call the police because you're feeling guilty?"

Judy's red lips twitched as she clung to my father's arm, her voice softening. "Brother, look at him. I've always treated this place as my home and done my best for this family, but now..."

As she spoke, she actually wiped away her tears.

She changed her attitude so quickly. My father, however, fell for it instantly.

He pulled her into his arms. "Don't be upset. Be careful not to..."

He almost let something slip, glaring at me angrily. "Arthur, apologize to your aunt!"

I taunted, "Dad, is she really your sister, or is she your mistress? Were you about to say 'be careful not to harm the baby'?"

My father and Judy exchanged shocked glances, turning their attention back to me. Judy's eyes widened in surprise. "How does he know...?" she murmured, covering her mouth.

"What nonsense are you spouting?!"

My father bellowed, raising his hand to strike me. Just as the blow was about to land, my mother rushed forward, shielding me.

That slap came down hard on her head.

Blood once again trickled down from the corner of her forehead, but she spoke with a cold and steady voice.

"Bill Best, I promise you, I'll divorce you."

5.

I hurried to stop the bleeding again, ready to take her to the hospital, but my mother stubbornly insisted on staying to negotiate with them.

Judy's face lit up with joy.

My father let out a barely perceptible sigh of relief and spoke in a tone that brooked no argument, "Let's end things amicably. Since you're at fault, you leave with nothing. I won't spread the sordid details of your affairs, and Arthur will stay with me."

My mother's face was pale, but suddenly she seemed invigorated, her tone resolute.

"I can leave with nothing, but Arthur must stay with me."

Judy quickly interjected, "Glad you see reason. When do we finalize the divorce?"

I sneered, "Can't wait, can you? Leaving with nothing? That's not happening."

My father glared at me, "Adults are talking. Stay out of it."

I stared back at him, "Dad, divorce is fine, but the company goes to my mom. If you don't agree, there will be no divorce."

My mother looked at me in surprise, and I subtly signaled her not to give in.

She immediately understood and, with a hoarse voice, refused to back down.

"Bill, just like Arthur said, or I won't divorce even if it kills me. I've been with you most of my life. I've done nothing to betray you. You can spread whatever you like. I don't care."

For as long as I can remember, this was the most resolute I'd ever seen my mother.

A look of surprise flashed across my father's face.

Judy tightened her grip on his arm, first glancing at her stomach, then cautiously asking him.

"What should we do?"

By this point, I was already helping my mother upstairs.

Behind us, I heard my father's low voice, "Don't worry. I have ways to get rid of them. That large sum will be ours."

Judy's voice dripped with sickly sweetness, "You're the best, Bill."

My father chuckled, "In which way do you mean?"

Judy playfully punched his chest, "You're awful."

6.

The two of them had become so brazen.

Before my father could make things harder for my mother, I made my move.

Because I had already obtained a replica of that precious artifact and secretly switched it with the real one in my father's study.

The password to my father's safe was actually Judy's birthday.

I called the police.

When the police arrived at our house, my father and Judy were sitting down to dinner, chatting and laughing.

Ironically, ever since my mother stopped doing housework because of the divorce, they had quickly hired three maids.

They were visibly stunned when they saw the police. When they realized I was the one who called them, my father was livid.

"Arthur, what do you want?!"

I extended my hand toward him, "Dad, you keep saying my mom is having an affair—show me the evidence."

Judy hurried over, pressing down my hand with a smile, "Arthur, there's no such thing. How could your father have any evidence?"

I looked at her, "Oh, no evidence? Then if you slander us again, I'll sue you for defamation."

Of course, they wouldn't dare reveal what they had done.

My father's face darkened.

The police, seeing this as a family dispute, were about to leave when I pulled out my phone and showed them.
