After Rebirth, I Matchmade My Wife and Her Ex-boyfriend Chapter 1

I had a miserable death.

In the pharmacy, a madman rushed in and slit my neck. I bled to death.

My wife, Nicole Phillips, came to the morgue and left after only a minute, without tears or sadness, as if it was a wild dog that had died.

Nicole and I had been married for three years and had never had a quarrel. In the eyes of people around us, we were a couple who respected each other.

But they didn't know that Nicole and I hadn't had any physical contact for three years.

She was deeply in love with her ex-boyfriend, Scott Clark, who had cancer, and she married me only out of necessity.

I never thought that God would give me a chance to be reborn...

"Victor, I can't come. Scott has to have chemotherapy today. As you know, chemotherapy is very painful and requires someone to accompany him. Can you help me explain to my dad? Thank you." On the phone, Nicole was very anxious.

I had just recovered from my rebirth when she called me. The situation was exactly the same as in my previous life.

We had originally agreed to go to her father's house for dinner.

According to the plot of the previous life, I would agree and help her continue to keep it secret.

But after being reborn, I didn't want to do the same thing.

I wanted to live for myself.

I said, "Nicole, I don't want to lie for you anymore. You should explain to your father yourself. Besides, you've been cheating for so long. I'm really tired of it. Let's get a divorce."

"Victor, don't be ridiculous. Wait until I come back."

I said, "I'm serious. What I said was from the bottom of my heart. Scott's condition is so serious. He needs you more than I do. I sincerely wish you both the best." I hung up the phone without waiting for her to speak.

The chirping of cicadas outside brought back my memories.

Nicole and Scott met in a cake shop. At that time, there was only one cake left, so Scott gave it to Nicole. And they became friends from then on.

Because Scott liked thin women, Nicole, who weighed only 132 pounds, signed up for a weight loss camp. It took her two months to lose weight to 104 pounds.

Her father, Tom Phillips, felt that Scott Clark was not someone he could trust for the rest of his life, so he threatened to commit suicide to force them to break up.

Nicole's mother died of illness when she was 7 years old. It was her father who raised Nicole with great difficulty.

After they broke up, Tom often invited me to his house for dinner, intending to match me up with Nicole.

A year ago, Tom drowned while swimming, and I saved him.

He had always wanted me to be with his daughter since the day I rescued him.

Perhaps out of spite, or perhaps because Nicole was afraid that Tom would do something extreme, she compromised and started dating me.

After dating for two months, we got married.

On our wedding night, after seeing off all our relatives and friends, I went to take a shower happily. During our date, we didn't do anything.

Just when I came out of the shower, I saw her changing into sportswear and getting ready to go out. She said a very good friend of hers was in the hospital. Her friend was from another place and had no one to rely on, so she had to go and take care of her friend.

At that time, I didn't even know Scott existed.

I thought the friend she was talking about was a woman.

When I heard this, I immediately ran into the kitchen, got a few lunch boxes and handed them to her. "You can eat when you are hungry."

She took the lunch boxes. I quickly took out her sneakers and helped her put them on.

With a bang, she slammed the door and left in a hurry without even looking at me.

It was not until after 9 o'clock the next morning that she returned home exhausted. She sat alone on the sofa, looking sad, waiting for me to leave the bedroom.

She said, "My friend has cancer and will need surgery and chemotherapy. I have to accompany her during this period. I hope you can understand."

Even after being reborn, I still remembered her expression clearly.

When she said this, her tears had been falling. Her voice choked, and she seemed to be heartbroken.

She didn't feel the slightest bit of guilt towards me, nor did she feel guilty for abandoning me on our wedding night.

I was still in the dark at the time, so I comforted her, "I understand. Take good care of her in the hospital, and don't worry about the things at home."

When I visited my father-in-law, he asked me why Nicole didn't come with me. I helped to conceal the truth and said that she was on a business trip.

Later, Nicole told me the truth. The person in the hospital was her ex-boyfriend. She assured me that everything between her and Scott was absolutely innocent, and she was just taking care of him as a friend.

I softened my heart and believed it.

At the same time, I was thinking that I should use time to move Nicole.

For the three years of our marriage, I had been keeping the secret from her father for her.

I always tolerated and understood her. I didn't get jealous, and I was sensible, considerate and caring towards her.

She even asked me to buy medicine for Scott. And I went.

It was during that time when I was buying medicine that I was killed by a madman.

In the morgue, her expression was cold.

After being reborn, I decided to help her. I wanted to see if she would be happy after being with Scott.

My thoughts were interrupted by the ringing of my cell phone.

It was Nicole's call.

"Victor, I sent you the video of Scott's chemotherapy. Have you watched it? After watching it, you will know how much pain Scott is in now. Although he is no longer my boyfriend, our friendship is still there. If there were someone else who could take care of him, he wouldn't have asked me. You want to divorce me just because I take care of him. Aren't you too petty?"
