Today is the day I die.

And my husband will be the one making the order.

This was the only thought in my mind as I laid on the white bed, strapped on it like a dangerous animal.

The bright light above stung my eyes, but I didn't dare take my eyes off it, not when it was the only thing I could look at without being reminded of... Him.

" How long are you going to wait for?" A scratchy voice whispered, and If I hadn't parted my own lips to speak, I would have thought the voice belonged to someone else.

Instantly, a cold chuckle bounced through the walls. "Raven oh Raven, look at how pathetic you've become." My husband mused, his cold hand caressing my cheek.

Lips stretched into a wide smile, I turned to him, making sure to lean in to his touch despite the disgust crawling up my skin. "Hello, Elio. I have missed you."

He laughed.

The crazy bastard laughed, after taking everything and everyone from me.

After ruining my life until nothing was left.

He actually dared to laugh.

I wanted to scream, to claw at him until I ripped his skin from his body. Yet something grounded me in place.

Maybe it was the drug I had been administered everyday since I arrived here two years ago, or the blindingly white cloth binding me to the cold, metal bed.

I had no idea.

All I could do was stare into his glee filled eyes. A look i longed to wipe off his face.

" I didn't think you would become this gentle after rehab." His face twisted into a sneer. "Who would have expected the Knight heiress to be reduced to this. Quiet, broken. Nothing like the proud, arrogant bitch you were." Something flashed in his eyes, and a cruel smile spread on his lips. "What would your father do if he were to see you like this?"

Something inside me snapped.

With a loud screech, I sunk my teeth into his flesh as hard as I could.

He howled, smacking me across the face.

Yet I didn't let go. Not when I tasted his blood, not even after I tore through his flesh. It took a group of doctors to pulls me apart from him.

And when they did, I bared my teeth at them, bloodshot eyes burning with hatred as I struggled to reach him again.

"Fuck! You crazy bitch!" He screeched, storming over and delivering a loud blow to my cheek.

The sound of bones cracking echoed through the room, yet the pain didn't register, It was nothing compared to what I have been through since I arrived in this hell.

" This is nothing compared to what you have did to me." My voice was weak yet it carried the anger and pain I wished I could inflict on the bastard for what he did to us.

" I should have killed you when I had the chance." Elio yelled, veins bulging in his throat.

"Then what are you waiting for? You already killed my Dad! you ruined my life! And Vance." My voice cracked. "You didn't even spare him. Why let me live? Do it! Do it now!" I shrieked, struggling against the strong men holding me down.

My whole body was trembling, not only from anger, but from the realization that this horrible man before me won't get to pay for what he did.

He held his bleeding hand, rage making his shoulders strain. "I will make you wish you had never said that."

"And I will make you wish you were dead." I snapped at the restraint. "Just let me out of this first. I promise, I will be quick."

"Crazy woman!"

"Oh my God." A familiar voice gasped from the door.

"What happened to your hand?" Another voice questioned as two woman rushed into the room, my blood boiled.

It was Martha, my step mom who had been presumed dead five years ago, and Thalia, Elio's mistress.

"The bitch fucking bit me." Elio groaned. In response, Martha's head snapped to me, her jaw grinding together.

"Disgusting brat. How dare you touch my son."

" You will burn in hell, both you and your son!" Was all I managed to say, it was all I wanted to say!

"S-She has really gone crazy!" Thalia whispered shakily, wide eyes watching me like I was a beast, a beast who wanted nothing but to drag them all to hell.

"Stop being a fucking child and get yourself together." Martha snapped, irritated.

Her eyes snapped wider and she pressed herself to Elio. " I-"

"That's enough." Elio growled. "This isn't the time to argue." His cold eyes didn't leave my raging ones as he said. "You know what to do."

"Yes!" The men holding me down echoed.

"Don't leave anything for the police to track." He added.

I didn't understand what he meant until the men began to dump gallons of gasoline into the room and on my body. The stale smell stung my nose and dread clawed it's way through my chest.

This was it, I was finally going to die.

The three of them stepped out as the men worked on the room, and finally when the men were done, and it was time to lit the flame, Elio held the lighter in his hand.

" You will pay for everything you have done." Bitterness coated my words, resentment shimmering beneath my skin as I twisted and writhed.

"And how will you do that? By becoming a ghost and hunting me?"

Martha chuckled. "If ghosts were real, Then Vance Cobalt would be here to save you."

Her word hit me like a running train and something ugly curled inside me. I couldn't bare to look anywhere except the door, knowing I would be hit with the memory of the death of the only man who ever loved me.

He gave up everything for me, yet I kept pushing him away untill he was taken away.

Elio chuckled. " It's a pity, he is a thousand feet beneath the ocean, dead, just like you will be a minute from now." He shook his head, amusement dancing in his eyes. " Send my regards when you meet him in the Underworld."

The lighter fell with a soft clack. Flames instantly bursted through the room, licking onto everything, including me.

At that moment, my whole life flashed before me.

Btter regret twisted through me. Tears rolled down my cheeks. For my Dad who died without knowing why, For the one man who loved me, and gave everything for me even when I foolishly chased after Elio.

For the naive and foolish Raven who couldn't see past her step brothers facade.

If there was a chance.

I would have done things differently. I would have never have fallen into the trap of these vile animals.

The betrayal, the guilt, the anger, the pain all mixed into one. A shrill scream broke out of me at the how unfair it was.

I screamed hard until my voice broke apart, until the thick, black smoke drained me of my life before the flame could get to me.

A gasp tore out of my lips as my eyes snapped open almost immediately.

I clawed at my neck, gasping for breath like a fish out of water. It felt like I had just been pulled from the claws of death, but this time, it wasn't sparkling red flames claiming me, but water.

Cold, Depressing water.

My whole body shivered as I vomit the liquid substance that had gathered itself in my stomach.

Warm hand patted my back. "Are you okay?" A voice that had haunted my dreams for two months asked.

My body went still, like it had forgotten how to act.

I couldn't breathe, I couldn't think, as I slowly spurn towards the sound of the voice.

And there he was.

Vance.

I stared at him, blinking once. Twice.

"Are you okay?" He repeated, brows snapping together in concern.

I reached out and pressed a hand to his cheeks. It was soft. "H-how is this possible?" I breathed shakily.

Didn't I just die?
